Description of 1981 Buick LeSabre Limited |
1981 Buick LeSabre Limited Coupe Here is a beautiful example of an exceptionally low mileage, original 1981 Buick LeSabre Limited Coupe. This car has the original Dark Maple Metallic exterior paint (paint code77), professionally polished to a mirror shine, and perfect original Dark Maple cloth interior, and Dark Maple half vinyl top in perfect condition – everything works, including the clock. Under 24,000 original miles, this car is equipped with Buick’s 4.1 L V6, with a four-barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, PS, PB, A/C, AM/FM stereo radio, tilt wheel and cruise control – it has 125 HP, weighs 3626 lbs., and is 218.4 inches in length. There are no oil leaks, everything works as it should. The car handles the Cajon grade with AC on at 75 mph with ease…don’t bef ooled into thinking this V6 has no power. The headliner and visors are perfect, the upholstery is as well, and it still has the original, perfect carpet and original floor mats…I had carpeted ones made with the Buick logo for car shows. The dash is perfect, and all the rubber seals are original, soft, and supple. The split bench style seats with arm rest are manual, as are the windows. The chrome is as new with no blemishes whatsoever. There are three minor paint chips that were touched up and are hardly noticeable and the paint shine will blow you away. I drive this car to car shows in Nevada and California and I do not have to worry about issues coming up.Because I am a perfectionist, I did the following: New fuel pump, starter, carb rebuild, valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, new front rotors with ceramic pads, rear springs, radiator, belts, hoses, vacuum pump, battery, alternator, electronic sensors, shocks, trunk struts, new oil and transmission pan gaskets, and new Nexen tires. The entire AC system was renewed with new compressor, R134 conversion, new hoses, accumulator, and all the attendant components for trouble free driving. There is a new spare master cylinder and water pump in the trunk for “just in case.” The things that usually fail in the middle of a desert drive you do not have to worry about, just put 87 octane in the tank, set the cruise control and the radio to a station you like and enjoy the Buick ride. The body is straight as an arrow, and it was “Zbarted” when it was new. The body and under carriage are rust free and underneath is as clean as on top having been professionally detailed (see photos of undercarriage). In the last year, this car appeared in three Concours level car shows, a testament to its quality. If you are looking for a gorgeous, turnkey show condition car, here it is. The photos speak for themselves and there are no surprises. I am the third owner, and the car is in my garage in Las Vegas. Inspections and drive tests are welcome, and you may contact me if you have a question about anything not covered. Here is a link to a short walk around video. I have 22K invested in this car and reasonable offers are welcome. Think about this a moment – “I can get one of these for about 8K,” - If you want a project car, this isn’t it. Get that 8K one with high miles, rebuild the engine and trans, re upholster it, re chrome it, repaint it, get new tires, brakes and springs and shocks and all that other stuff you will need to make it nice and you will be in it for at least 25K to do it right – and, it still won’t be a low mileage show condition original like this. |
