Description of 1949 Buick Roadmaster

A beautiful elegant car that was restored in 2001 and still looks like a jewel. It is in excellent mechanical condition and driven regularly. Seller has owned the car since 2001. It has always been garaged since I have owned it. The odometer reads 8620 but the actual mileage is unknown.

Repairs include:

Rebuilt dynaflow transmission

Rebuilt speedometer

New front shock absorbers and upper control arms

New headlight dimmer switch

New rear axle seals

New water pump

New voltage regulator

New fuel sender

New electric fuel pump

New torque tube propeller shaft seals

New master brake cylinder

Starter motor and generator rebuilt and other repairs as necessary. All Trico windshield wipers rebuilt

All gauges, headlights, parking lights, brake lights, turn signals work. Engine is in excellent condition, doesn't smoke, never overheats, starts immediately, and runs smoothly. Wide white wall tires have good tread although they are old. The car is in excellent driving condition.

The clock, radio, windshield washers, and hydro-e-lectric front seat do not work. The glass is in excellent condition except that the windshield has a small concoidal chip on the right side as shown in the photos. Rubber seals around the doors and windows are in good condition.

Upgrades: 12V conversion, hydro-e-lectric windows replaced with electric motors, and new hydraulic cylinder and pump for top. The upper inside metal door panels are chrome plated as shown.

Cosmetics are very good overall. The body and floor pans are rust free with the exception of light surface rust in places under the car. Paint is shiny with a few small chips that have been touched up except on the sides of the hood that are visible only when the hood is open as shown in a photo. The engine paint is new. Trunk fabric is new as is the glove compartment interior. There is some overspray on the inside of the trunk as shown. Chrome and stainless steel are in very good condition. The interior door panels and carpeting have been replaced. The front and back seats retain their original black leather upholstery with a small repair on the bottom of the back seat as shown. The top is in good condition with a glass rear window.

Overall this is a very attractive car in good cosmetic condition and excellent mechanical condition that car be driven and enjoyed without any additional work.
