Description of 1982 Buick Electra

Exceptionally clean and decent original 80. 00 mile 1982 Buick Electra Park Avenue with rare Diesel engine. Charcoal grey exterior with grey top. Appears to be original 1982 lacquer paint that still has a fair amount of shine. Seams under doors are clean and rust free. Vinyl top is in very nice original shape. Original "filler" panels between bumpers and rear lights are still flexible and intact. Chrome bumpers shine! There are several door "dings" most notably on center of right front door and upper left rear door which has an approximately one inch scratch covered with touch up paint. There are a few chips in the paint. some have had a drop of carefully applied touch up paint. Underbody is decent with typical surface corrosion on frame. Tires were installed new last fall with less than 1. 00 miles on them. Grey interior is original and very nice. Carpet and upholstery are clean. there are grease marks on the left front upper seat belt noticeable when pulled all the way out. Headliner is mostly decent although showing signs of coming loose in a few spots. sun visors work fine although fabric is loose. Digital clock occasionally sticks and is unplugged. Dash and door panels are in great shape. Steering wheel has a couple cracks on the rim. Seat belt reminder light sometimes stays on. Rubber gaskets around doors and trunk are all in excellent original condition. Equipment includes: six-way power drivers seat. manual fore-aft front passenger seat with power recliner. power windows. power door locks. power antenna. power trunk lid release. power mirrors. AM/FM stereo radio with cassette tape player. rear window defogger. tilt steering wheel. cruise control. Air conditioning does NOT work. was working until just recently. had system converted to modern 134 refrigerant with dye added. worked again but refrigerant leaked out. the dye should pinpoint the leak so repair can be made. this work will NOT be performed in the event of a sale. The 5. 7 Diesel engine runs and drives great. very quiet for a diesel on the freeway. There are a few fluid leaks occasionally noticed on the garage floor. Car is solid feeling. handles nicely. has the classic big car soft ride. My mechanic loves the car and feels it could be driven on a long trip. I have taken a couple 300 mile round trips with no issues. As a diesel the car has hydro-boost brakes. sometimes the brake pedal pushes in a bit further. everything seems to function however. I could be sensitive to this because it is different than my other cars. This car gets lots of comments. especially from folks who recognize it as a diesel. The Park Avenue of this vintage with the Diesel engine was unusual to see when new. even more rare now. This is one of the nicest cars of its kind I have seen. they are hard to find this clean and original. hope it goes to a good home (garage)!Serious buyers encouraged to see. drive. and inspect car PRIOR to eBay auction ending.
