Up for auction is a beautiful freshly restored 1957 Cadillac series 62 2 door hardtop coupe. It is a stock original southern California black license plate car that just came out of a 41 year storage in the desert resort town of Palm Springs. The car was sold new at CASA DE CADILLAC of Sherman Oaks, a. in June of 1957. A copy of the original dealer sales contract and the original owners manual comes with the car. The original owners purchased 2 Cadillac`s in 1957, coupe for the wife and a Fleetwood sedan for her husband. She drove the car until 1974 and it sat in a protected carport in Palm Springs until 2014 when the original owner passed away. The son sold the car to the man who I purchased the car from and he did the restoration finishing it in the spring of 2015.This a nicely optioned Cadillac. It has a 365 cu. in. V8 with the dual range Hydramatic automatic transmission, ower steering, ower brakes, ower windows, way power seat, onder Bar signal seeking radio, ower antenna and tinted glass. The original doesn`t work but a new AM/FM/CD radio with remote was installed in the glove compartment. The power seat motor works but doesn`t move the seat, robably a stripped gear.This Cadillac is in clean beautiful condition! It has a straight and solid rust free Southern California desert body, tunning new white paint in the original color. The stainless trim has been polished and both bumpers have been re-chromed. The original pot metal trim and chrome is in very good condition with some minor pitting on some of the interior chrome.This Cadillac has a stunning new restored interior using correct reproduction Cadillac cloth and vinyl. The seats, oor panels, eat backs panels, ash pad, eadliner, nd carpeting were rebuilt and replaced to the original pattern and specifications. The trunk has new carpet over solid rust free floors and has a detailed original jack and spare tire.Mechanically this 57 Cadillac is a very sound car that runs strong and drives well. It received a complete valve job with hardened seats. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly. All mechanical components have been rebuilt or replaced to insure safe and dependable driving, adiator, ater pump, oses, elts, enerator, carburetor, uel pump, elined fuel tank, ll new dual exhaust from the engine to the back bumper, omplete new brake system including rebuilt power booster, ew shocks and complete front end suspension rebuild. It has been completely serviced, luids, une-up and a new set of correct sized bias ply tires. Being a heavy car, he bias ply tires work well, ery smooth ride.A stack of receipts from the restoration will be included with the car.
