Description of 1970 Cadillac DeVille Coupe Deville |
Unique, lean and Low Miles!!!, 970 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with a Factory Sun Roof!!!! One of 90 Coupe Devilles delivered with Factory Sunroofs in 1970. I have seen 1970 Eldorado's and a few Sedans over the years with factory ordered sunroofs but this is the first Coupe Deville I have seen with one. It has 35,000 original miles on it. The sunroof was manufactured by a German Company called GOLDE, hich was the predecessor to ASC (American Sunroof Company). I call this a Factory sunroof because it was offered in the late 1970's brochure and advertisements. Additionally, o American car manufacturer at the time installed their own sunroofs. This car has a straight rust free body on it and is solid outside and underneath (Southern and west Coast buyers do not be afraid of this New Jersey car!!! it is solid!!!). The car was repainted in the original color, s the original 1970's paint was tired. The Vinyl roof was replaced with Period correct Cadillac Material, owever this car originally came with a mocha brown top. The material was not available in Mocha brown so I chose the color you see in the pictures. I thought this color looked better than the Mocha Brown, owever I have a quart of Mocha Brown Vinyl paint/dye if the buyer wants the car totally original. The sunroof was rebuilt (Motor, able, racks, witch, ee last picture) and now operates. The headliner has 2 small rips as a result of having to disturb it to service the sunroof. The rips are not that bad and new factory headliner material is available in this color on EBAY. The car has 4 new 235 75R 15 Radial whitewalls installed. I took the original LR 78 15's off the car. A rebuilt starter has been installed. A Rebuilt Alternator has been Installed The interior is original and in excellent shape. The door panels have never been cracked, eplaced or armrest covers put on them. The carpet is excellent. The dash pad is not cracked. The seats HAVE NOT Been Dyed All of the windows work as well as the power 6 way seat. The factory AM/FM Stereo radio turns on and signal searches but does not play. I have another factory AM/FM Stereo radio to go with the car. The car has the original chrome and stainless which is in very good/excellent shape. The hubcaps are in excellent shape This car still has the original factory hoses and clamps The Caddy has factory tilt and telescoping steering column. All Air Conditioning Components are present. The Compressor has a rebuilt sticker on it. The system could probably use a conversion and recharge All Trunk Cardboard is present, riginal and in good shape No leaks in the trunk A Few Items That need Attention: 1. Drivers Side Front Fender Moulding is broken and is about 2 inches shorter (see Pictures) 2. As Mentioned the headliner Ripped in 2 places (Small but present) 3. A corner "L" moulding piece on the rear window (Outside was misplaced by Top Installer) 4. Under the hood is pretty clean, he engine could use detailing 5. The original sunroof switch was broken. I replaced it with a switch under the dash that you cannot see. I will include the original switch as it has the factory print on it that says "sunroof". I bought a new 70 cadillac convertible top switch that looks just like the factory Sunroof switch which mounts on the dash as the original. I will include it with the sale 6. The sunroof opens and closes fine. It Does Not Leak!!! It may require about a quarter inch adjustment to be completely flush with the roof when closed. The car runs great!!! Great looking rare car that is an alternative to a 70 convertible as the sunroof is so large. Not many 1970 Coupe Deviles out there, et alone clean with a factory sunroof. Great unusual addition to a Cadillac collection!!! Unsurpassed driving experience in an old car with the sunroof open!! Great car for warm weather climate location ! Please call with any questions my number is NiNE OH EIghT 4 FiVE EiGHt ThReE EIghT Six OnE Please do not be shy about making offers! It is posted on EBAY to sell Would also like to know if anyone has seen another 1970 Coupe Deville with a FACTORY SUNROOF (Not an Eldorado or a Sedan and not an aftermarket sunroof) Terms: You are welcome to see and drive the car.
