Description of 1957 Cadillac DeVille

I AM SELLING MY 1957 CADILLAC COUPE DEVILLE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN SOUTHERN GA A FEW YEARS AGO FROM AN ESTATE WHERE THE SON OF TOLD ME THAT THIS CAR WAS THE DAILY DRIVER OF HIS DECEASED FATHER IN THE 1990s. I'VE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR LOCALLY AND IT RUNS. SHIFTS AND DRIVES QUITE WELL!! THE BODY IS VERY SOLID. AND THE PAINT IS STILL ORIGINAL. THE CAR RUNS SMOOTHLY AND I HAVE POSTED SOME VIDEOS TO SHOW YOU AS ACCURATELY AS POSSIBLE HOW THE CAR IS IN PERSON. IT'S VERY HARD FOR ME TO DESCRIBE A CAR IN FEW WORDS. BUT AS YOU CAN SEE HERE IS A NICE VERY PROMISING FIXER UPPER THAT YOU CAN DRIVE WHILE YOU'RE RESTORING!!!THIS CAR HAS POWER WINDOWS ALL OF WHICH WORK. AND THE POWER TRUNK PULL DOWN WHICH WORKS AS WELL!! THE POWER SEAT ATTEMPTS TO WORK. THE MOTOR RUNS. BUT IT DOESN'T MOVE SO IT WILL NEED SOME REPAIRS. THE HEATER IN THIS CAR EVEN BLOWS STRONG!! ALL WORKS AS WELL AS THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE. SPEEDOMETER. GEN LIGHT. OIL LIGHT. HEADLIGHTS. TAILLIGHTS. BRAKE LIGHTS. SIGNAL LIGHTS. THE BACK OF THE REAR SEAT AND OTHER PIECES ARE INCLUDED. ANYTHING IN THE INTERIOR NOT SHOWING IN THE PICS IS HERE. THE CAR IS COMPLETE EXCEPT FOR THE PASS SIDE STAINLESS SPEARS!!!!FIRST. I'LL TRY TO GO OVER THE THINGS THAT THE CAR HAS HAD REPLACED. THE CAR HAS HAD ALL BRAKE LINES. HOSES. CYLINDERS AND BOOSTER REPAIRED. REPLACED OR INSTALLED ALL THE WAY AROUND. IT ALSO HAS FOUR BRAND NEW 235/75/r15 WIDE WHITEWALL RADIALS ON IT THAT STILL HAVE THE 'TEETS' ON THEM AND ARE STILL PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW! I HAD A VALVE REPLACED IN THE ENGINE THAT WAS STUCK AS WELL AS RE-SEATING THE OTHERS WITH NEW GASKETS. SEALS AND SUCH. THE CARB AND WATER PUMP HAD BEEN REPLACED PRIOR TO THIS. I REPLACED SEVERAL OF THE COOLER HOSES THAT WERE DRY ROTTED. I ALSO HAVE REPLACED THE POWER STEERING HOSE. I HAVE PICS OF THE ENGINE TORN DOWN TO ILLUSTRATE JUST HOW GOOD THE INNER CONDITION OF THIS ENGINE IS. THERE WAS PRACTICALLY NO RIDGE OF THE CYLINDER WALLS AND THE CYLINDERS WERE CLEAN AND SLICK. THERE WAS ALSO VERY MINIMAL WEAR ON OTHER PARTS AS WELL. I REPLACED AND/OR REPAIRED THE CHARGING SYSTEM REGULATOR AND GENERATOR AND THE CAR IS NOW CHARGING GREAT. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL LINES ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE TANK. I'VE ALSO CLEANED AND SEALED THE TANK AND REPLACED THE GAUGE FLOAT. I HAVE REPAIRED ALL THE ELECTRIC (POWER) WINDOWS AND THEY ALL ROLL UP AND DOWN VERY WELL. SEE THE VIDEOS. IN THE VIDEO YOU'LL NOTICE THAT THE CAR IS RUNNING FROM A JUG. THAT IS ONLY BECAUSE I WAS WAITING TO CONNECT THE FUEL LINES AS LONG AS NEEDED TO LET THE RED KOTE SEALER SET UP AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AND TO ALLOW FOR SOME BODY REPAIR IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL WITHOUT RISK OF FUMES GETTING IN THE WAY. SECOND. WHAT THE CAR NEEDS!! FOR DAILY DRIVING IT WILL NEED NEW TAIL LIGHT LENSES. BACKUP LIGHT LENSES AND EXHAUST. IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO BE SHOW QUALITY. THE CAR WILL NEED SOME MINOR REPAIR AND SOME DAMAGE REPAIR ON THE LEFT REAR QUARTER. THE RUST REPAIR THAT WILL BE REQUIRED WILL BE SIMPLE ENOUGH FOR THE LESSER EXPERIENCED AMATEUR BODY MAN TO COMPLETE AS IT IS MOSTLY FLAT SURFACE REPAIR FOR THE MOST PART. IT WILL INCLUDE A SMALL HOLE IN THE SPARE TIRE WELL. SOME SMALL HOLES (ABOUT QUARTER SIZED) IN THE LOWER LEFT QUARTER PANEL. SOME NOT TOO BAD UNDER THE HOOD. NOT A COMPLETE ROT OUT. JUST SOME NEED OF PATCHING. AND FRONT FLOOR PANS. THE DRIVER'S FLOOR HAS ABOUT A 6 INCH DIAMETER HOLE IN THE FLAT PAN SURFACE. AND THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS A LITTLE MORE BUT MORE WHERE THE PAN TURNS UP AT THE COWL. BUT THE PINCH WELDS. AND BRACES ARE ALL OK. JUST PAN RUST ONLY. THE REAR PANS ARE GREAT. IF YOU CLIMB UNDER THIS CAR. YOU'LL BE IMPRESSED BY HOW SOLID IT IS FOR ITS AGE. ALL IN ALL VERY VERY EASY TO REPAIR AND RE-PAINT!! IT WILL NEED THE OBVIOUS CHROME REPAIR AND REPLACE. I THINK I CAN HELP WITH A GOOD RE-PLATEABLE REAR BUMPER TO THE WINNER OF THE BID. IT WILL NEED SOME NEW GLASSES CUT. AS THE GLASS IS MILKY AROUND THE EDGES. I CRUISE THIS CAR AROUND ANYTIME I PLEASE HERE IN TOWN AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED A CONVERTIBLE AND I AM HAVING TO SACRIFICE THIS ONE TO GET THAT ONE GOING!! I HAVE DONE MY BEST TO DESCRIBE THIS CAR TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.
