Description of 1964 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special

There's nothing cooler than a vintage Cadillac. Go on, look around. You'll find that showing up in this 1964 Cadillac 60 Special will get you all the attention, no matter where you go. It's mildly customized, but none of the original goodness is lost in the translation, and the bright paint and interior only turn up the original Cadillac awesomeness to 11. You want a great vintage cruiser, it'll be hard to do better than this. The paint is called Red Wine Orange Pearl, and yeah, we don't know what that means, either. What we do know is that it looks absolutely spectacular. Cadillacs with fins can pull off bright red pretty effortlessly and it loses none of its grown-up appeal wearing the high-visibility paint. But if it's going to be an eyeball magnet, you know that the sheetmetal had to be right and it is. Look at the reflections in the surfaces of the body, they're crystal clear and razor sharp. Door gaps are exacting, and there's a uniform shine that suggests a lot of hours color sanding and buffing were invested. Nothing was shaved, deleted, or modified, so you still have that fantastic Cadillac look, which, in 1964, was a bit sleeker and smoother than the year before. It's still got fins, of course, and the 60 Special was the biggest non-limousine they offered that year, so it's got a heck of a lot of presence. Beautiful chrome and stainless trim certainly helps, but it's restrained and doesn't detract from the overall presentation. This is one heck of a great-looking car!The white interior is also custom, and if you're going to go all-in, this is the right way to do it. Red piping and buttons, custom door panels, and even a color-matched steering wheel all make it seem like this was a factory option rather than a cool custom. Of course the seats are all-day comfortable and just check out the legroom in back! Road trips are a lot of fun in this car. The original dash and gauges are in excellent condition and you'll note that this car sports factory A/C, making it ideal for high-luxury travel. The original AM radio is still in the dash and there's some fairly convincing-looking burled walnut trim on the glove box. You also get power windows and a power seat, which you'd expect in a Cadillac like this, as well as a nicely-appointed trunk that's all dressed up with matching red carpets.Cadillac's muscular 429 cubic inch V8 is a quiet and able servant that moves this massive land barge with effortless ease. It's quite stock under the hood, although there's plenty of red paint, including on the engine block, which would ordinarily be blue. But nobody's going to complain once they see just how clean it is, and the read inner fenders and black engine components make for great contrast. It starts and runs beautifully, silky smooth and with a soft burble from the brand new exhaust system. In fact, the whole driving experience can be called silky smooth, because the suspension has that incomparable Cadillac softness, the engine is vibration-free, and thanks to proper maintenance, it cruises with ease at highway speeds. The front suspension seems to be slightly lowered to give it a custom rake, but that has no effect on the ride, and those beautiful wide whites with ornate factory wheel covers are exactly the right choice. This is a flat-out gorgeous car that drives like you'd imagine. It's flashy, that's true, but if you want attention, even the guys in Ferraris are going to stop to watch you glide by. That's what true coolness can do. Call today!
