Description of 1987 Cadillac Allante

Cadillac Allante Convertible

Low, Original 80,550 Miles

VIN: 1G6VR3178HU102601

So, where else are you buying your clean, collectable Allantes anyway? Reluctantly, this car was turned over to us by a local owner a few weeks ago and it’s very apparent the car has been treated well over the years. As always, please call or text me at (206)914-1173 with questions or to discuss a sale. My name is Mark Thompson.

If you follow our Ebay auctions regularly you know I’ve been able topostquite a fewclean Cadillac and Lincoln coupeshere over the past decade. This is only the second low-mileage Allante convertible we’ve encountered and been able to offer our great Ebay bidders!

CONDITION

Ever spent an afternoon driving a classy, vintage Convertible? What a fun treat! Smooth is the word for sure. Smooth powerful acceleration. Smooth handling in the curves or on the highway. Comfort, styling, and versatility all in one gorgeous ride. Look over my photos and I’m sure you’ll agree what a nice find this is. I know you’ll admire the overall provenance. The exterior appears to still wear the factory original silver metallic paint and it’s in decent condition (just a bit of clear coat fade on the rear bumper). Climb over, under and throughout - I know you’ll come up smiling! Rust? Please, this boulevard cruiser HATES body rust and you’ll be hard pressed to find any to worry about here. Yes, the Puget Sound area is famous for rain, but our winter roads are rarely salted. We only have one or two days of light snow each year. Everyone panics and stays home.

Inside you’ll find good original leather upholstery. The only real flaw is on the driver’s left bolster and it’s been redone with a patch of matching leather. I don’t think the ashtray’s ever seen a cigarette! Great headliner on the removable aluminum hardtop, too. The electronic dash gauges appear functional and bright. As you see in the photos, the odometer is reading only 80,550 miles (my wife just added another 31 miles over the weekend after I stowed the hardtop in the garage for a few days). All front carpets are clean & original. The small carpeted driver’s kick panel piece next to the parking brake pedal needs to be refitted properly.

Mechanically the car feels quite strong. Even after sitting in my Auburn, WA warehouse for a few days it starts instantly with just a pump of the gas pedal and key turn. You can’t beat the modified 4100 engines in these convertibles with their roller lifters, high-flow cylinder heads, fuel injection and tuned intake! The automatic transmission shifts great as well! The brakes feel just fine to me.
All four Cadillac alloy wheels are straight and true. The 225/60R15 Cooper touring radials have at least 80-90% rubber remaining all around. The aluminum soft top is quite light and easily lifted off by two people. I wasn’t able to get the fiberglass boot cover to release so the condition of the soft top is unknown. I can see it is still properly stowed under the cover however. The only other issues we’ve encountered while enjoying the carare some intermittent seat switches, notification the ABS system is off (Ilike it that way for my driving preference) and the driver’s side sunvisor pops loose from the worn-out bracket next to the rear view mirror. The passenger window seems to just move up and down manually. That’s about it! A fun summer convertible ready for the next long-term caretaker to enjoy!

TERMS OF SALE:

You’re encouraged to check the photos over closely and call me with any questions BEFORE you place a bid! Come by my Auburn, WA warehouse and drive the Cadillac if you’re in the area. DEALERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME AS WELL! Additionally, I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is no longer for sale or an acceptable offer has been agreed upon. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction’s end. The remaining balance is due by cash or certified funds within seven days unless prior arrangements have been made with us. Remember, you are bidding to buy and I fully expect the winning bidder to fulfill their Ebay contract! You are not bidding to hold, inspect, or then come test-drive the car later!

Because of the amount of money involved in buying a vehicle, we require Ebay members with a feedback history of five or fewer transactions call or email before placing a bid. If I don’t have this initial contact, your bid may be cancelled. As outlined above, you’re always welcome to call or text me at 206/914-1173 with questions about this Caddy during the auction. My name is MARK THOMPSON.

Please do BID WITH CONFIDENCE and know that you are purchasing a nice car from a respected Ebay seller. I want you to be happy with your purchase (and with me) and that’s the main goal! Please don’t be upset if I miss minor flaws or you are required to spend a small amount on an unforeseen problem! No used car is ever perfect.

SHIPPING THE ALLANTE:

When it comes to transporting the car most of our U.S. and Canadian buyers have used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They’re the biggest in the business and are endorsed by Ebay. Reach them directly at (888) 817-6203 and give the phone rep my affiliate number (2362642) so that they can pull up our location information. If you’re in Oregon or California we’ve got a great local hauler that regularly delivers our vehicles up and down the Pacific Coast. Alternatively, you may also want several transport bids from the www.U-ship.com website. Delivery contractors will email quotes and you'll be able to choose who you might want to use. The zip code for pick-up on my end is 98002 (Auburn, WA). As always, the transport of the car and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER and I’ll be happy to work with whoever you go with.

You may keep the Allante stored at my warehouse for up to 15 days after the auction closes assuming full payment has been received. After that I charge $15/day storage.
