Description of 1989 Cadillac Allante |
This auction is for a very nice 1989 Cadillac Allante convertible/hardtop. If you are looking at this auction, you already know about the assembly in Detroit and Italy, the special 747 airbridge, and the like (if not, you can Google the Allante for more information). The '89 model year is my personal favorite, having the larger, torquey 4.5 liter V8 (new that year), and retaining the tilt/telescope steering wheel (last year). Blissfully, this is NOT the Northstar engine with the head bolt problems (that was 1993). I like this car very much, but having married last year we now find ourselves with five vehicles, and must reduce the count. Exterior color is the beautiful, classy rare Gray Metallic, of which only 305 were made. No rust to be seen anywhere. The seats are power Recarros in black leather. With the Pininfarina body it's a bit of an exotic, but comfortable and reliable; my wife and I recently completed a roundtrip between Sarasota, FL and Atlanta, GA; I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. I replaced the top pull down motor and ABS pump relay this year, so no worries there. The car drives like a top, and last year won a trophy at a local car show. Tire are Bridgestone Turanza with about 3,000 miles on them. It is garage kept. I have pulled the fuses related to the radio and power antenna. The radio works, but the Bose speakers have begun to whistle and need to be rebuilt; I've just done the driver's door speaker, but do not have time to get to the other three. The power antenna needs a new mast, and this is included with the car. No codes on the DIC. Included is the shop manual and illustrated GM parts guide. Also included are one set of original Cadillac keys and a copy set. I'll do my best to answer any questions, so please ask before bidding. Keep in mind that this car is 27 years old, but still it is a nice, classy, and fun car. Many high resolution photos are included, and are part of the description. Due to age it is sold as-is. Clear title in hand. Price is at our driveway in Sarasota, Florida. Buyer pays all transportation costs, and is responsible for their own registration, taxes, etc. Please email any questions. All sales are final. |
