Description of 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

This is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1959 Eldorado Biarritz! It went through an extensive frame off restoration where everything was rebuilt or replaced with new parts. The paint and body work are second to none! The chrome is all SHOW CHROME and absolutely mind-blowing! The engine, transmission, rear end, everything was rebuilt. It currently has just under 2000 miles on it (all of that going to car shows and winning everything in sight!)

This car is a solid car as well. The floorboards are original! They were not rusted out. There was minimal rust repair required to get this car back into like-new condition. That's very hard to find on one of these cars! I remember some years ago a Persian Sand '59 Eldo being listed on ebay that was chopped up to convert it to right hand drive and then back to left hand drive and all I thought was, "who would want something that has been hacked up as bad as that car obviously was??". Not me! Sometimes you can't see the structural problems in a car, sometimes you can. This car has no such issues. I restored the car to the highest standards, I didn't do it to make a quick buck on a quick flip. I didn't cut corners.

Many people that are very knowledgeable about these cars have all told me the same thing when they see this car: It's absolutely the most beautiful '59 Biarritz that they have ever seen! It was modeled after the Franklin Mint blue '59 Eldo that they made some years ago. The paint code is Argyle blue and it's also a factory bucket seat car! Try to find a nicer '59 Eldo Biarritz....YOU WILL FAIL!! Yes, it is that nice! It is 100% true to how these rolled off the assembly line? NO...it's better! The subtle aspects of the car that aren't quite original are all easy to reverse if you so desire to do that, but why would you? This is so much better!

The expense of restoring a car to this level is becoming almost prohibitive anymore. That's one reason why cars this good are not cheap to buy. You get what you pay for though. If you really want one of the best "59 Eldo's in the world, then you would be crazy to not consider this one!

The 1959 Cadillac was the pinnacle of the 1950s excess. If ever there was a car that represented the “More Chrome, Bigger Fins” styling of the 1950s, this 1959 Cadillac Eldorado is it.

The 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz was designed by Dave Holls with influence coming from the P-38 Lightning aircraft and is easily recognizable by its huge tail fins with dual bullet tail lamps and jeweled front and rear grille inserts.

Only 1,320 of these Cadillacs were built in 1959. This was also the final year that Cadillac produced its own coachwork, ultimately contracting Pininfarina in Italy going forward. This Eldorado Biarritz is an absolutely stunning example of the car and demands attention while floating down the road. The Argyle Blue exterior is brought to life by more chrome than perhaps any other car of its time. Bumpers, runners, grille, headlamp and tail-lamp surrounds, windshield surround areall finished in chrome, as is the prominent Eldorado badging behind the front wheels. The interior of the car isn’t in short supply of chrome either, with accents on the white bucket seats and window sills nicely contrasting against the white interior with blue carpets.

It is widely said that only 99 Eldorados in 1959 were optioned with bucket seats. Other additional extras on the car include power windows, power steering, power brakes, factory air conditioning, cruise control, fender skirts and a parade boot. The matching-numbers 390/345 HP V-8 engine comfortably powers this beast and is fitted to a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission with a column-mounted shifter. Wide whitewall tires are a nice finishing touch on a car that screams luxury and comfort. Not only is this Eldorado a piece of American history, but it is highly sought after by collectors.

Feel free to ask any questions you like. If you are going to spend this kind of money, you deserve to get your questions answered. There is a reserve on this car but for the quality of this car, it is reasonable. Also, consider the fact that a 1959 Biarritz sold toward the beginning of 2016 at auction for $390,000+ when you include the buyers commission. That record price makes this car an absolute bargain! These cars are only going to go up in value so this is a great investment for the future!
