This charming 1990 Cadillac Brougham Limousine was made by Corporate Coachworks in Missouri. We purchased the vehicle in 2011 in Palm Springs where the car had been used as a taxi. The owner passed away and we bought the car from his relative, and he didn't have any of the paperwork on the car, so we've been trying to recreate its history. The car was born in Palmdale, California and made it's way up to Bend, Oregon and then back down to the Palm Springs/Los Angeles area for about the last 15 years. We were told the engine was replaced but we're not sure when that was done or to what extent. The odometer reads @171,000 but the engine seems to be a lot newer than that, and it sounds great and runs strong. When you stomp on the gas, the car accelerates smoothly and hits the passing gear with authority. Since we purchased the car 2011, we've driven the car lightly and put approximately 5,000 miles on it. We purchased the car for recreation and we've used it to take the kids to school and Girl Scouts and to take the wives out to dinner and go to ball games, etc. We've built some memories with this car. It has has a ton of good will and is a real crowd pleaser. It's known as the "Prom Car" around the neighborhood and it's impossible to drive the car around without getting honks, smiles, and waves. When we purchased the car it was in pretty rough shape and a lot of the little switches and gadgets didn't work and the car needed some mechanical work so it's been pretty much a project car, but we've made good progress in fixing a lot of the bits and pieces and returning the car to its original glory. So a lot of those items have been fixed but there's still some work to do. But my daughter is turning 16 and needs a a car so it's time for our beloved limo to go. There's too much to list on what we've done to improve the car, but since we've owned it we had the rearend rebuilt and it has new airshocks in the rear and new shocks in the front. It has a new radiator, alternator, and water pump. The front end has a new idler arm, steering dampner, steering box, and tie rod ends. The rear seat has been reupholstered and the tinting on the side windows and sunroof are new. The upholstery in the front is vintage leather but it's pretty worn out now. The registration is current and the car passed smog last year. The brakes are good and the car stops well and straight. It seems to have a bit of a shimmy in front end at high speeds. The body has chips and scrapes and scratches and you can see that from the photographs. The sunroof seems to be off the track and can only be opened and closed manually. We replaced the electric antenna but it burned out again so that's not working right now. It looks like the car had an automatic leveling system but that hasn't worked since I've owned it, but the air shocks in the rear are adjustable and work well when the car is carrying a lot of weight. The rear tires are brand new. The dual driveshafts were replaced and balanced a few years ago (I happened to have a photo of that repair so I included it) The air conditioning blows cold in the front and rear. The car comes with a very nice cover and a repair manual. We're, of course, selling the car "as is" so please let me know if you have any questions before bidding and I'll gladly answer them if I can. Let the party begin. Thank you.
