Description of 1953 Cadillac DeVille |
This is an original unrestored family heirloom. What you see here is a low mile. The car has never been damaged and certainly has no rust or rust repairs. The original sales documents showing the original owner and the date of sale all are included with the purchase of this Cadillac. The five wire wheels are original Cadillac wheels. not reproduction. The car has never been damaged and certainly has no rust or rust repairs. This car is as original as possible. NOTE the Cadillac Emblems front and rear are New Old Stock. NOT reproductions! You can see the convertible top boot in one of the photos. This is the original! Yes. it has shrunk. but with care. it can almost be snapped back in place! The top now on the car is in good shape. but there is another NEW top included. The top now on the car could have been nicer. so another new top was purchased but has not been installed. The car drives fantastic and is ready to take out and enjoy at any time. The engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt in May 2008. The engine had developed a little tick tick noise so they elected to just have it all rebuilt. The engine work sheet is available. At the same time the transmission was sent to a shop that has been in business for many years and had all the knowledge to rebuild the transmission. The transmission was working OK. but the old seals were thought to need replacing. The radio was sent out to be restored. It has all new internal parts as recommended by the radio guy that has been restoring these old radios. Power windows. power top and power seat all work fine and were all rebuilt and/or replaced in 2008. At that time the car received an extensive inspection and mechanical restoration. |
