This car was owned, used and dislayed by AACA Museum of Hershey Pennsylvania. The car is a nice example of a 1974 Cadillac but by no means perfect. The car has had a full repaint and I believe it was done in 2005 the original color. It has some orange peal. The leather is in very nice condition and it was a non smoker car so it smells nice inside. The interior was done by Fleetwood according to the sill plate badge. The car drives great. The oil change is current. The fuel is fresh. The coolant is a nice green color. The spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor, air filter and belts are all new or just like new. The battery is new. The motor is a 472 V8 motor and it runs very nice. It sounds like a sticky valve on the drivers side under the valve cover because I hear a gentle tick. Not something that would be uncommon with a car that is limited use for years. The car use to be in a static collection for quite some time prior to AACA obtaining the car. The transmission shifts great in all gears. Even during heavy acceleration. The fluid is nice and red and smells fine. The brakes works very nice, the emergency brake works, the fluid is full and clear but the brake light is on. I have seen the compressor working for the air conditioning but now I can't get it to come on so I am sure it needs a charge. It is still R12. The tires have nice tread and the hubcaps are clean. The exhaust is not great. The catylitic converter is not present so it was replaced by a pipe and done fair. The air pump is still run buy the belt. The muffler is not in good shape. The car is surprisingly quiet for what is there. It is not loud or embarassing. The windshield and glass are in great shape. Wipers, horn, lights, power seats, power locks, power antenna, and radio are working. Although the power locks do work the plunger on the top of the drivers door is not moving. Also the doors and trunk keys operate the locks fine. It has cruise control but it is not engaging but the orange and green light illuminate and the entire system is intact. The indicators on the front of the hood work. The car appears to have been nice and solid prior to the repaint. I am not able to notice a part of the car that has had a dent or accident damage anywhere and I am pretty good at spotting this. The bottom is solid rust free. The vinyl top needs to be replaced unless you are short and dont see the roof top. The car had to be garage kept due to the spotless dash and rear dash. The chrome is bright and very clean expecially for being 44 years old. The door panel on the drivers side has tape but I feel the area is abou t 4 inches and not major under the tape. The steering wheels then are made of plastic and it is crumbly now. The steering wheel plastic will crack and fall apart over time and this is normal for these. The headliner is great! The seat belts and holders are super. The factory rubber floor mats are so rare and in great shape for the age. This Cadillac is ready for a road trip. I even have the books and original keys for this beauty. This description is very accurate and honest. For a car this old it is not uncommon to have this amound to items on the checklist.
