All gauges function(gas gauge/ mpg slow to start at times)

This has been a locally owned North Carolina vehicle. The vehicle has been garage kept its whole life, hence the great condition for a 26 year old car. Has a new battery that was purchased in OCT of this year(2017). Runs and drives well. All options function as should except for the MPG/Fuel gauge. It will work but is sometimes intermittent when the vehicle is turned on. Paint is in good shape but there are some signs of the clear coat due to old age(small swirls in the paint).
