Description of 1961 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz |
1961 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz. In Beautiful "May Kay" Pink Quite frankly I am astonished this beautiful car did not sell first time around. So I am re-listing it for 3 days with no minimum bid and a low reserve. If it doesn't sell you will not see it here again in the near future I will simple enjoy driving it for the summer. nbsp;turning heads wherever I go. as its' value continues to increase. This car is rare. I bought this car last month from a widow in Florida. she as very sad about selling the car but could not bear the thought of driving it without her husband. Her husband had bought the car for her as a gift in 2000 from the original owner. At the time of purchase. the vehicle was in need of complete restoration. When the restoration was done in the winter of 2000-2001. the paint mixer called general motors to get the paint formula used on Mary Kay cars. Only 1. 50 Eldorado’s were produced. in 1961 and how many can be left on the road? The Eldorado Biarritz Convertible was at the top of Cadillac’s offerings for 1961. It was built at a time when Cadillac still upheld its “Standard of the World” approach to building cars. The 390 cubic inch V8 mated to a Hydromantic transmission gave 325 horsepower in near silent luxury. Special rubber-coated coil springs replaced the troublesome air suspension of earlier cars delivering an equally smooth ride. The Biarritz got an extra dose of luxurious equipment and a beautiful splash of chrome trim on the body sides. Only 1450 Eldorado Biarritz models were made in ’61 making it less than 1% of Cadillac’s total production that year. After people who know way more than I do emailed me I have added a photo of the plate in the engine. Which seems to show this as car 1439 out of the 1450 total run. The car looks and drives great. with just 73. 45 original miles on the clock. I have personally driven the car about 150 miles and am driving it back and forward to my office daily (12 miles) to enjoy it while I can with no issues. Watch video here: http://youtu. be/zGtfeJ7kvPMIt turns heads wherever you go!ü The paint is in good shape as is the interior. ü There is a small car in the dash. ü The electric widows all work. as do the lights. indicators and wipers. ü There is a new aftermarket stereo mounted on the floor but the original radio is still in the dash. ü The top is new but functions manually. Needs Attentionü The original electric top motor has been disconnected at some point but is still in the car. (The manual operation is simple and quick. )ü The vent/heat controls on the dash do not move. But since you will be driving top down 95% of the time that not much of an issue and I am sure it’s an easy fix!ü The factory cruise control does not work. ü I think the factor radio is disconnected in favor of the new one so I can't be sure if it functions or not. That’s about it but the car is sold as is. While currently in fine running condition it is after all a 53-year old car that of course can show it’s age at any given moment so I encourage you to inspect it. This Car is Going Nowhere But up in Value! The only two comparable cars I could find for sale were these two (see photos). The first is described as a daily driver for $88. 00 the second on Hemming’s described as excellent for $69. 00. Mine I would say is more like fair to good. Car includes Free Elvis tape and sunglass!Watch video here: http://youtu. be/zGtfeJ7kvPM For Questions please call 352-266-2099 |
