Rust Free. Unmolested. Original. 1976 ELDORADO. The “Last Convertible”The term “land yacht” might well have been coined for this last American convertible. Indeed. the 1976 Cadillac Eldorado rode like a cloud on clean pavement. Four-wheel disc brakes. added that year. helped bring this monster to a halt. while reducing the substantial brake fade that plagued earlier model years. Under the long hood was an appropriately gargantuan engine: 8. 2 liters (actually 8. 94 cc). a full 500 cubic inches. Until quite recently. this held the distinction of being the biggest engine ever offered in a postwar production car. I bought the car from an older gentleman in Sebring. Florida who had owned the car 5 years. He was going to upgrade it to a high standard but never quite got around to it! I have driven this car about 50 miles and it drives nice like a Cadillac should. I have bought several of these cars and they all have things that need sorted when you first get them. Once sorted they are generally very reliable: Here’s what I have done: I had the thermostat replaced and it looks like the water pump and radiator where all so done recently by the previous owner. (They fixed the wrong problem the thermostat was incorrect for the car J) The car has a brand new battery. This Beauty is all original The bodywork is in great shape no rust anywhere! Windows and the top motor all work Gauges all work including the gas gauge. which seems to be a constant issue with these cars. Brand new black top (Just went into the shop today to be installed!) Tires look good on the back and decent on the front plenty of life left. Needs AttentionThe seat motor does not work right now but I am having it fixed. Paint is decent overall but there are some visible scratches and it will need a touch upThe interior is decent for its age but does have a couple of small tears in the leather. The trunk motor is not working but it opens and closes fine. I have not checked to see what it takes to fix but I doubt much. This is a great daily driver that’s a good candidate to make even better due to the fine rust free condition of the body. That’s about it. but the car is of course sold as is. While currently in fine running condition it is after all a 39-year old car that of course can show it’s age at any given moment so I encourage you to inspect it or ask additional questions to clarify any concerns. 352-201-8002
