Description of 1994 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham |
A real head-turning classic, this '94 Fleetwood is loaded with features. Besides the usual things all luxury cars of its day had, this car is equipped with the LT1 350 cu. in. 265hp V8, Level Ride System (basically auto adjusting shocks), and all digital dash. Other features include:-Auto climate control-dual power seats with almost infinite settings (3 different lumbar controls alone!)-power driver seat memory-Nice Cold Air Conditioning!-Automatic headlights with twilight sentinel-Traction Control This car might be 24 years old and qualifies for Classic/Collector status in most states, but it doesn't act like it. The engine is strong and steady and nearly all equipment works. The following is a short list of what does not:- rear passenger window (probably just a wiring issue)- power antenna raises up fine but does not retract completely- interior lights only work with a switch I installed under the dash. Again, probably just a wiring issue with the twilight sentinel but I can't figure it out, so installed the extra switch.Mechanically, the car is in above average condition. It has a new water pump, exhaust mainfold gasket, and windshield. Oil change and lube was done 500 miles ago. Brakes and tires are in good shape. Some oil seeps from around the pan gasket but it is minimal. Maybe a couple drops a week. Not even worth fixing.I just drove this car on a 400 mile trip around Idaho and Montana and it performed perfectly. Even traveling an average of 82mph with about 500lbs of passengers and cargo I still got 21mpg. 65-70mph speeds get around 25mpg.Cosmetically, the interior is above average. Seats are nearly flawless, carpet is clean, headliner is great, and all controls work. The only interior flaw is the dash top. It has a few large cracks. If you can find one from a salvage yard, they are about the easiest to replace as it is only a few screws and it comes right off.The exterior would grade as average. This car is loaded with trim all over it so there are of course apt to be trim issues. Some trim is peeling or cracked and there are a few small dents on the bottom on the chrome pieces. The vinyl top is in good condition but it does have some nicks. There is a scratch on the passenger quarter-panel (visible in photo). The paint is good shape except on the hood where it has splits all over it (see photo). There is also a small amount on the trunk lid. This condition has not worsened at all in the 6 months I have owned it and appears stable.Overall, this is a great car for its age and is destined to be a classic since it was one of the last big, rear-wheel drive American cars made.
