Description of 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Wire Wheels plus all OE options |
FOR SALE1984 CADILLAC ELDORADO BIARRITZ "CONVERTIBLE" This "No RustFloridabeauty" convertible Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is offered in a unique white pearl exterior and original red vinyl interior with beautiful white vinyl top. As a collector of fine automobiles, I am proudly offering one of my favorite vehicles for sale. I searched for this model for quite some before purchasing this particular vehicle in South Florida. I purchased this Eldorado from the original owner with 95k on the odometer. It was complete and very well maintained but like all my vehicles I enjoy doing my own maintenance and repairs when/if needed. Below is the "short list" of details describing the restoration and upgrades I did or had performed. RESTORATION / UPGRADE DETAILS: • The original paint was stripped to bare metal to confirm it had no damage/or fillers, it did not. A new 4 stage paint job was applied which included; etching primer, base coat white plus a conservative amount of 91 Cadillac White Pearl and 3 coats of clear. • In order to make sure that there weren't going to be any issues, I had the engine rebuilt by: Caddy Master, Pompano Beach, FL and the transmission by: AAMCO, Delray Beach, FL. • A new white convertible top was installed in 2016 it also includes the red tonneau cover and bag. • I upgraded the OEM ASC wire wheels to a perfect matched set of rare FWD chrome wire wheels which offer a better ride/balance and overall appearance. ( I have the original Cadillac rims) • New Tires (2017). • New front/rear brakes, plus ball joints (2018). • New rear air shocks (2016). • Replaced alternator and battery (2017). • A/C service with coolant conversion, new compressor (2018). • Replaced original radio with Alpine / Bluetooth (2018). • I am listing this vehicle for sale with the post-restoration mileage of 23,009 miles, since almost every inch of this vehicle has been either replaced or improved throughout the years. ALSO INCLUDED • Spare parts including many OEM parts. • Factory GM and Mechanics Manuals, plus all receipts. • This car includes a Professional Appraisal available upon request. • This car has been lightly driven and has always been garage kept. • Drives beautifully, a real crowd pleaser !! • Clear Title and current Florida Registration. NOTES OF INTEREST: If ever there was a car that automotive enthusiasts and non automotive enthusiasts alike will come together on, the factory Convertible Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz is it. Most would agree that this is one of the best looking cars ever created. It gets approving comments whenever it is driven from both young and old, males and females. That makes a strong statement about the future collectability of these Eldorados. In 1984 & 1985, Cadillac offered PRO production code YPS, a factory Eldorado Convertible, carrying an unheard of 30K plus price tag. Due to the fact, only 2100 were made in 1984, this has made it one of the neo-classic staple investment cars. The 1979-1985 Eldorado body style is one of the most classic looks sought after by collectors, a solid investment these days. The 84-85 represents the pinnacle of that. Cadillac contracted ASC/McLaren to convert all 2100 cars ordered factory loaded before being made into convertibles by ASC, weighing about 3600lbs. They are more of a mid size car compared to the 'land yachts' of the 70's and aren'y huge even by today's standards. There were only two options they didn't't get, the Bose sound system (no room in the back for the large speakers) and memory seat buttons which were dedicated to the rear quarter widows. Coupe rear widows don't lower, only in the convertibles. The frames of these cars have been reinforced with sub frame additions and bracing almost to the point of overkill. These are structurally impressive, more so than previous GM convertibles. They are more structurally sound than the regular coupe. For the unfamiliar, the sub framing was designed to show slightly low on the car and with added weight in the back, they have a near 50/50 weight ratio, a big improvement over the inherently nose heavy coupe. They drive great! The hydraulic power top is quality with a very nice headliner, not found in convertibles of the day. The entire car was done to near perfection for that time period, when cars generally were not really as good as they could have been. |
