The "Standard of the World"

This 1962 Cadillac Series-62 convertible has been stored in a large compound as part of a private collection for over 4 decades. This particular series-62 Convertible is a well optioned early production 1962 model built the second week of October 1961. It is finished in Maize with Saddle leather special ordered with Air conditioning, electric power front seats and soft ray glass. This rare Cadillac is a California car from new with the original Black and Yellow California license plates issued to this car from the Department of motor vehicles in Sacramento in 1963 with the registration sticker when the automobile was retired 44 years ago in 1975.

This car has not been restored however was resprayed the original color a family member estimates close to 50 years ago. The paint shines nicely for its age but is not perfect. All the chrome is original and in great condition. The original painted hubcaps are in good shape. The top is in great shape with no rips or tears or discoloration. This is an honest 57 year old convertible that is in good shape but has its flaws as expected for a car this age.

The Interior is in good shape and is very original. Commonly convertible interiors are thrashed after years in the sun. This interior is not like that and has aged well. The front seats are decent there is a few rips that have had repairs done some time in the early 1970's or late 1960's. All the door panels are in great shape as well as the dash and all the original chrome looks absolutelygorgeous. All the gauges are in working order as well as the radio. Equippedwith Autotronic Eye,The power windows and top go up and down with no issues.

The car is powered by the original 6.4L 325 horsepower 390 V8 with a smooth shifting GM Hydra-Matic (Jetaway) 4 speed automatic, the power top works good after the contact points were cleaned after it's long hibernation. The car runs and drives, and everything seems to be in good operating condition however the Air Conditioning belt makes noise and the air does not blow cold. Remember this 57 year old car has been sitting properly for 44 years. Everything is working properly but everything from the tires, hoses, bushings etc is at least44 years old.
