Description of 1992 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance

For Sale 1992 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance. Fully restored to Concours quality. Smells like a new Cadillac, drives like a new Cadillac. Always kept in heated and air conditioned garage, in many respects better than new! Less than 80,000 miles, Turn-key, needs nothing, fully detailed, ready to drive onto the show field.

The original owner was a Shriner and secretary of that organization's car club. The car has always been taken care of. I am the second owner and performed a complete exterior cosmetic restoration of what was a very good car to begin with. Whether local or national, this Brougham has always won its class in every show in which I have entered it. I have done an extensive no expense spared cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment, drive anywhere!

Base price in 1992 $31,740.00. In addition to all the standard features this car is equipped with: Brougham package C fuel filler remote and theft deterrent system $360.00, d'Elegance leather seating $2445.00, wire wheel disks $445.00, gold ornamentation package (includes gold wheel cover crests)$395.00, 5.7 Litre TBI engine(Chevrolet 350) $250.00 for grand total of $36,235.00. Also has dual lighted vanity visor mirrors and day/night rear view mirror. Air blasts cold, everything works including the exterior opera lights.

Interior is excellent and original except for headliner that was replaced by original owner. The right front floor mat is a little mismatched, car came to me this way.Driver's seat has light wear to lower cushion. Leather is soft and supple.

In restoring the underside of the car everything was dropped from the transmission back and the underside of the car meticulously detailed and resprayed using Eastwood epoxy products. Frame and chassis were cleaned down to bare metal. Driveshaft cleaned, balanced, and painted and new u-joints installed. Rear axle dropped and powder coated. Springs and suspension powder coated. Rear axle serviced and new seals. All new brakes, cylinders, pads, shoes, and hoses replaced with new. New rear brake and fuel lines all meticulously handcrafted to original specs. New rear shocks. Four years ago you could have eaten off the underside of this car.

Up front all new steering, new LH control arm, powder coated sway bar, new tie rod kit with nylon bushings, new stabilizer bushings, new front shocks and lubrication.

New Delco alternator, Delco battery less than one year old, all new belts and hoses. New AC compressor, bottle, and evaporator . New tension pulley and oxygen sensor. Engine compartment detailed for competition. Radiator boiled out and tested detailed and painted with correct radiator paint. New exhaust system.

Car has only been worked on by "old-timer" mechanics and myself, everything done right, built for the long run as I thought I would be keeping this car forever.

I purchased the car wearing its second set of tires which appear to be very low mileage. These are the original style factory correct Uniroyal Royal Seal gold line radials that are in excellent show condition. I purchased four correct rims and re-mounted the original tires for show and these are to be included. Currently on the car are four American Classic radials purchased 2015 with just under 7000 miles on them.

Car was stripped of all trim and repainted in original Flame Red Metallic. All trim and moldings were replaced with NOS when possible. Original moldingswere detailed and polished as required. Rocker moldings professionally polished, absolutely no road rash. NOS trim parts and clips were used wherever possible, too many to list. Nos bumper guards, bumpers re-plated to show quality chrome standards and all components detailed. Wire wheelcovers were disassembled, polished and waxed, no road rash. New paint job is far superior to original GM paint which had orange-peel from the factory. Pinstripe was meticulously re-painted as factory. All lower cladding except back bumper repainted so no outgassing like an original car would.

Flaws: Very small nick in front passenger shoulder harness belting. On occasion the tape deck sporadically stops and restarts depending on condition of the cassette tape.

I have original window sticker and a laminated duplicate for show display. Included in the sale is much documentation on the original dealership, original owner, manuals, Cadillac cassette tapes unopened, original box for auxiliary owner grill emblem. Second set of brand new gold keys never used, receipts from restoration, original dealer sale license plate.

I have numerous older cars and built this car to compete in longer distance shows and to drive dependably in club events. Car is in many respects better than new. 1992 was the last year for the classic brougham bodystyle and arguably it was the best of the generation. Also lowest production numbers. It seemed like folly to spend the amount of money and effort to restore a 1992 vehicle but few broughams were as nicely optioned as this example. I thought it worth the effort as I had wanted one since they were new. The restoration of this car was truly a labor of love, I hope to find a new owner who will truly appreciate what it took to bring this car to this level of perfection. Being a perfectionist by nature, the only way to get the car I wanted was to build it, car was not built to flip, this Cadillac is part of my personal collection. Restoration took place 2015-1016. Please feel free to ask questions or make arrangements to view. Car is located in Atlanta, GA.
