This has been a great car to own, it has been reliable and beautiful to look at. Has taken many trophies at local shows in the Nebraska/Iowa area. As listed above the car has had many positive upgrades that make it a great driver, the thing that I enjoyed about this car is that it has an awesome amount of patina in the interior. The interior other than carpet and headliner is all 1963 and in outstanding shape. I have put many miles on this car both in the city and on the highway and it has never had an overheating issue or any other mechanical issue for that fact. The car has blemishes in the paint but nothing that is terrible, peeling or chipping, it is very shiny and the car is very straight. I think most of the issues could be wet sanded and buffed out. Some of the stainless trim has been painted flat black, not sure what it looks like under the paint, I would assume it has been scuffed up. The speedometer is inoperative only because I have it disconnected, I was wanting to gear match the trans gear and rear end gears for the most accurate speedo I could get. The cable is still hooked up and just zip tied back under the car.To remedy this you would have to do the math and buy the proper gear ratio set for the tail shaft in the trans, not a big job and about a hundred bucks in parts. The exhaust is homemade and has been since I owned it, it was on my list to have done, it is solid and not hideous to look at or anything but new exhaust would happen if I kept it. This car is not perfect, it is not a show car or built by Chip Foose however it has been a very reliable head turner of a 2dr hardtop Caddy to own and drive. This car would be an outstanding candidate for the person who wants a clean restoration starter base car or a clean patinaed driver to enjoy and hit local shows with. I am not interested in trades at this time. |
