Park Place LTD is pleased to present this elegant Series 62 Touring Sedan, shown in stately Amherst Blue and contrasted with a lovely Gray Bedford Cord and Blue Plain Broadcloth interior. This wonderful example has known but one family since being sold new by Sax Motors in Dickinson, North Dakota to Mr. Ben Meggers of Rhame, ND in 1948. It was since passed down to Mr. Meggers' great-niece in the early 2000s, after which time a full restoration was commissioned and completed in 2003-04 by Moslander's Rod and Custom in Monroe, Washington. The achieved show-quality results have held up superbly, with pride in ownership immediately obvious to even the most finicky observer. The 1,063 miles showing on the odometer were recorded since the completion of its restoration, as this wonderful automobile has been used mainly for Concours events and weekend car shows. 1948 introduced Cadillac's redesigned lineup, the first following WWII, and was arguably the first automobile to feature integrated rear fins -- styling influenced by the iconic P38 Lighting warbird. The workhorse 346c.i. L-head V8 (carried over from the previous model year), and backed by a HydraMatic transmission, was a combination befitting a Cadillac with its ultra-quiet, smooth operation and dependable service. Styling was enhanced by full "Sombrero" wheel covers, front bumper-mounted "Dagmars," a wide cross-hatch "egg crate" grille, and distinct polished body side moldings that added an appearance of motion -- a hint of the upcoming "jet age." The nearly one-of-a-kind Touring Sedan on offer here features wide whites, an exterior windshield visor, AM radio, back-up lamps, windshield washers, dual rearview mirrors, and an anti-glare interior rearview mirror. Thoughtful and nearly invisible updates include power front disc brakes, supplemental oil filtration, radial tires, an integrated audio system, seat belts, and a remote locking system. The paint (code #2) and interior (code #41) are correct per the original trim tag, which denotes Fisher body #22199. The fortunate new owner of this striking Cadillac will receive shop receipts and photographs documenting the restoration, as well as a summary written by Mr. Meggers' niece authenticating its history. Here is a tremendous opportunity to own a wonderful and usable American classic at an affordable price point. 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Completely Restored Same Family Ownership from New!
