Description of 1959 Cadillac Series 62 |
Pick up only, all shipping needs handled by buyer. I can be available for inspection, pick up and help loading any time if given notice. Yes this is the same car sold here May 2020, I purchased it and had it transported to ArkansasI posted some of the pics from the original listing, so you can see what was advertised to me. All the other pics are as car appears Aug 2020 Genuine convertible, runs and lot drives for loading, but not safe for the open road. Frame looks solid without weakness or rust issues......B U T!Needs rockers, (inner and outer), full floor pans, toe panel to rear bumper, (hump over rear end is good) Conv floor was amateur semi-patched. Just flat sheetslaid over"swiss cheese" factory braces.I located a floor from a sedan. Also, Includes new repo patches for pass side, front and rear, sedan pan does have couple thin spots on these flat areas, but underside braces solid and strong.Conv body all around needs attention, and best I can tell, has layer of bondo on all surfaces. Also have a complete new in box repo trunk floor. Surprise, the trunk lid looks solid, but has signs of minor body work. No trunk lock, but will latch and open with screw driver. Upper 1/4 Eldo trim is the rare OEM, along with pass side upper door trim, missing upper Eldo door trim for driver door.lower Eldo trim; rocker, lower door, skirt, lower 1/4, new repo Buckets are nice, dual power, without rust, but no switch in base, and cable ends broken, told they are from a 1961?Original rear seat solid, piston covers nice, needs recover. Original front bench included, but missing lower and upper trim, tracks and power motors.Extra rear bumper ends, were re-plated in the past, and have been in dry storage for several years.Have a second pair of 62-63 series front fenders, not great, but better than ones on conv, and truck load of parts from the Fleetwood and other sources.Do have very good pair of skirts, from a Fleetwood. Brackets on car not trustworthy to hold securely. Convertible top items are present with the exception of the pump, and cover. Lock handles broken. I did locate a OEM power top switch. Also founda great horn ring, not cracked or repaired, few tiny pits. Dash looks good, no major wear, and windshield is nearly new. Missing inside rear view mirrior and visors.Collected four Eldo wheel covers. Fleetwood provided a rear 3-row grille, plus found anextra end section, and also back-up Vees.Windows move, but I haven't lubed them, so I have not run them fully up and down. From Fleetwood, an extra set of 4 window motors, 4 power lock motors, also pair power vent motors, and power trunk system (needs rewire), all untested. I don't have the skill, or the funds, to repair car to level it deserves.I was misled by the seller, I would never have considered this purchase if issues were disclosed, I know my limitations.I paid nearly double what car is worth. My reserve will not even cover purchase price. So, the Extra parts are "free". Also have included a complete frame from the Fleetwood if wanted, if not, will be scrapped. I have been collecting items for years to build my "bucket list" car. Burned so bad, I want to walk away and take the hit now rather than invest more time and more money just to make it worth purchase price. I want to sell all, and willing to take a hit,but do not have to sell, so insulting low ball offers will be ignored. This is an entry level, real convertible for the younger, and/or more skilled than me. Only a short list of possible trades:1934 Ford street rod. 2 or 4 door sedan. auto, no chops, no flatheads, steel body a must, glass fenders ok.1955 Chevy Nomad, 1957 Chevy Nomad, auto, stock trim and body 1957-1960 corvette, auto, stock trim and bodyMatching numbers not important Straight across trades, I don't want any projects, only consider ready to use as is, but don't expect perfect show cars, I plan to drive and enjoy. I want to spend the time I have left, behind the wheel, not under the hood. I want buyer to know what they are getting into, unlike I was. So, please come see exactly what I'm selling, or send someone you trust. Ask questions, ask for more pics, I will be up front and factually honest. Many extra items not pictured, 24 pics are not enough to show all that is present, a truck load of parts, not counting the extra frame. Paypal for $500 non refundable down only.wire transfer, faster and safer for all Don't waste our time, bid with intention to purchase. On Aug-03-20 at 09:43:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve for all items 45K 30K for just the car as is. Will include horn ring (every 59 Caddy deserves a horn ring) Original seats, remember front is missing trim, tracks and motors. The sedan floor pan and the new in box patches and trunk floor goes with @30K |
