Description of 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood |
No Reserve. 1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham with 23k miles showing. I have no way to verify miles, though NMVTIS doesn't show any other readings and shows one owner, door hinges don't sag, driver's door panel armrest isn't worn, original Michelin spare tire, and seats/pedals/floormat show no notable wear. Original Georgia title issued in July 1976. Phoencian Ivory with dark blue green interior and top (paint code 52, interior 32B, top R). I have the original window sticker ($11842 new). I've never seen another this color combo. If you have, I'd seriously like to see a pic. Cadillac's 500 cubic inch (8.2L) carbureted V8 and TH400 transmission. Carburetor rebuilt and choke adjusted but a bit finicky - starts easy, kicks off high idle after about 90 seconds, feels like a dead spot after about 4 minutes, then runs/drives/great throttle response after about 7 minutes. No knocks, no ticks, no smoke. Exhaust is solid, tiny leak at driver's donut after warmup (you can't hear it inside the car). Transmission shifts great. Newer fluids and thermostat. New alternator and battery. The power antenna and digital clock do not work. Everything else works, though I did not check with autodimming feature or autoleveling. Here's what works: power seats (including optional passenger power seat), power windows, power locks, tilt and telescope (optional) with no wobble/looseness, twilight sentinel (optional), both remote mirrors (passenger optional), outside thermometer (optional - reads high), all lighting (including optional opera lamps), cruise control (optional), and am/fm stereo radio (all speakers work). Has a new A/C compressor and air blows coldish, though it's a VIR system with a 134 recharge, so I'd replace the VIR or put a VIR-eliminator kit on it before running it too much longer. Exterior paint is all original except for a touchup spot on the upper half of the left rear quarterpanel (starting to chip), the rear bumper fillers (replaced), and some touchup spots. The paint is very presentable and shiny in most spots, though starting to dull in a few small spots that don't show up in pics. The outer body is dead straight and rust-free, including the bottoms of the front fenders. There is some minor rust on the bottom (out of sight) of the hood lip, and only surface rust at a few spots inside the bottoms of the doors as seen in pics. The vinyl top is in very nice shape with a few small cracks, which I sealed to keep water out. It is still soft. It could use a good cleaning and a dye. Undercarriage has some surface rust and looks just like what it is - 44 years in a relatively humid southern climate, but no rot at all. The interior is very nice. No dash cracks, door panels are very nice (tiny crack just starting on driver's door, carpet loose on left rear door panel), carpet and factory floor mats (optional carpeted) are excellent. Seats are in great shape with no rips or tears. Headliner is perfect with no rips. Paint is weak on metal trim around A and C pillars. Windlace weak on rear doors. Package deck is nice. Steering wheel is cracked under the cover. Paint on steering column is nice. Car has new whitewall tires. Runs and drives out great - really tight steering and suspension (as far as old Cadillacs go) with all original shocks and suspension. Tracks straight going down the road. Brakes well - appears to have original pads on it. Starts easy, even when warm. I have pics of documents and a video of me driving it for about a mile. Contact me if those are something you want. Inspections also welcome weekdays after 6:30 pm or any time weekends. |
