Description of 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible |
We always love a good 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible, and this one has its numbers-matching V8, loaded A/C interior, and glowing color combo. So, this classic Caddy drop-top wraps a ton of appeal around quite an obtainable price. Phoenician Ivory is a terrific factory color. It has a distinctive glow that only gets better when you have such a high-gloss finish as this one. The color was only offered this year, and 1976 was also promoted as the final year for the Cadillac drop-top. So this makes for quite a significant car where the appeal has history to go with its vibrant paint. This convertible's charm is also in its total presentation. The sheetmetal has an outstanding level of preservation, the convertible top fits sung, and there's such good chrome on the bumpers that you can see the reflection of the intricate grille. You really do have the best in details, right down to the power close on the trunk and the green pinstriping that highlights the chic lines of the hood. As much as we like the look of this car with the roof in place, it gets even better with the top down. The factory-correct Light Ivory Gold has a similar distinct radiance as the exterior color, and so they harmonize nicely while attracting attention from blocks away. And we love the way the well-presented wood-like trim gives a well-done contrast. The leather has a smooth and supple look across its plush pleated design, and so you can see you're in for a luxurious experience even before you sit down. This has plenty of space for family and friends to spread out, but a car like this is all about the driver. That's why you have an individual armrest and your seat power adjusts to the ideal position. There's a tilt steering wheel, and all your controls are within easy reach. This includes the factory AM/FM radio, power locks, and provisions for cruise control. The power windows and power convertible top mean you never have to leave the driver's seat to go from enclosed comfort to a wind-in-your-hair experience. But if you really want to look upper-class, take an extra moment to put the color-matched hard boot cover in place (it also makes this particularly nice for parades.) And no matter how you choose to enjoy top-down motoring, the factory air conditioning is there to keep you feeling cool. Under the hood is the numbers-matching 500 cubic-inch V8. This was the last year for this big powerhouse, and so that adds to the distinction of this uniquely painted drop-top. The engine bay has a nice mix of originality with obvious signs of all the right maintenance. That's why the V8 fires up and runs with the kind of quality you really want in Caddy. Topped with a four-barrel carburetor, this V8 makes plenty of torque to keep it an easy cruiser. This also has a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and Cadillac's legendary supple ride. And don't forget this was also the year that these Eldorados were upgraded to four-wheel power disc brakes. Complete with owner's manual, this Eldorado convertible has the history, features, and luxury to be your favorite classic. So if you want to be outstanding in the best ways, call today! |
