Description of 1957 Cadillac Eldorado

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this beautiful 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible for your consideration. It is powered by a dual carbureted 365ci V8 which is mated with a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Power is delivered to the rear wheels effortlessly making for a pleasurable driving experience.
These classic Cadillac's are known for their beautiful styling. For the third generation Eldorado which began in 1957 and ran through 1958, Cadillac offered new styling that featured a low, down swept fender line that beautifully blended in body lines into the distinct rear fins. This is one of the few examples that was fitted with the optional power operated convertible top. The top is in working condition with a new cylinder and pump. The convertible body makes for not only an exceptional driving experience but also elegant styling. This example was restored in the 90's and has been under the same ownership since 1985. When restored it was kept in the original color of Elysian Green Metallic. Chrome trim can be found everywhere on the exterior. The bumpers, grille, body trim pieces, and wheel covers are all chrome which is in great condition.
The interior is finished in a beautiful Olive Green leather with plenty of accenting chrome everywhere from the dashboard to the door trim pieces. Cadillac gave the Eldorado plenty of luxurious features including power windows, power steering, and air conditioning. This example features an aftermarket JVC radio. Driving this luxurious piece of American automotive history is truly a joy and experience that everyone should get the opportunity to enjoy.
The third generation Eldorado saw some of the most outrageous fin designs of all time. It also featured a revised rear-end design featuring a low, down swept fender line. Quite honestly the 1957 was one of GM's most memorable designs. This car was the most expensive car on the road in 1957, more than a Rolls Royce.
