Description of 1963 Cadillac Coupe DeVille |
Restored 1963 Cadillac 2 dr Coupe DeVille. This car has a clear Florida title in my name. This car has been in my family since new. Originally belonging to my godfather and then passing to my grandmother. This cars restoration began in 1998 and was completed in 2003. I put on as many nos parts as I could find. Everything from gaskets, lenses, weatherstrip to the interior. The suspension was completely restored with new bushings balljoints, Springs and nos Delco shocks. I did put shorter springs in the front and back to being her down lower and she rides and looks great. The drive train was completely restored. The original 390 removed magnifluxed and rebuilt. Automatic Transmission and rear end were also gone through. The bottom of the car was originally undercoated, so she was solid on the bottom. The bottom was sandblasted and painted and re undercoated. The car retains its original silver color, with blue factory tinted glass and grey cloth with grey leather interior. The grey ribbed headliner and visors are original and near perfect. The steering wheel is gorgeous without any cracks or damage ever. The trunk material is nos and is exact. The upholstery is exact to original with embossed Cadillac emblems in the leather. I have the original interior that goes with the car. The dash pad is original and near perfect. Car has stainless steel mufflers and resonators. All the chrome was professionally rechromed along with the stainless steel. Rechroming all these parts would cost a near fortune now days. The floor mats are reproductions of the original. I did my best to keep this car as original and true to the factory and as my family owned it. I only changed the exhaust and the original had mufflers and resonators as well. The gas tank was removed, cleaned, defumed and coated. Original Exhaust manifolds and fuller neck for gas tank were ceramic coated. Nos Cadillac tissue dispenser. Car runs and drives like you would expect for a Cadillac. I have put close to 10k miles on her since restoration. She is a cruiser and I have taken her on many long highway drives from central Florida down to see family in South Florida. The car has been stored inside for nearly her whole life. I have had her in and out of storage for the last couple years. I have too many antique cars and decided that it is time to go to a good home of the right buyer comes along. I don’t need to sell her but she needs to be stored in a garage and I just don’t have the space. So what does the car need? Just a few minor things but nothing mechanical. I recently redid the dual master brake cylinder and power booster. They are rebuilt correct originals and I have the old ones that came off as spare cores. Mechanical dash clock doesn’t work. Needs to be converted to quarts. The car will need ac work. I did rebuild everything except the A6 original compressor 18 years ago. I converted her to R134 and she worked great. The compressor went bad about two years ago and I never sent it out for rebuild. Both the driver and passenger door window motors need to be replaced. They are original and tired and sometimes work and sometimes don’t. The rear quarter windows work but are slow. The car developed a few small rust spots. Easy repairs but I have to mention them. They are on the front edge by the hood molding. Also there are a few paint chips here and there. Obviously the car was well taken car of and is beautiful. However she was restored some time ago and will need a minor clean up. I can refer you to locals that can do all this work after sale if you like. Car comes with a brand new high end car cover. Don’t contact me for a trade! I have too many antique cars and don’t want anymore. Don’t contact me unless you are willing to speak with me on the phone and tell me your name and your state. Sorry but too many scammers these days. I reserve the right to cancel this listing at anytime since it is for sale locally. The 63 comes with a complete 1961 Cadillac parts car If the buyer wants it. Parts Car doesn’t run and has no title. |
