Description of 1961 Cadillac Fleetwood Chrome |
1961 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Series 8/9 Seater Six Window Sedan(IG:@thestrickland1961caddy) Body Style: 75 Sedan | Style No. 6723 | Body Code: R | Engine Serial No. 61R 013 247 Type of Engine: 90-degree, V-8 overhead-valve | Bore and Stroke: 4 in. x 3.875 in. | Piston Displacement: 390 cu. in Length: 242.3" | Height: 59.1" -----------------------------------------------------------------Vehicle History Original owner was my grandfather who ran a private livery service in Chicago. He was the sole operator until his retirement. Vehicle was last operated in 1980 and stored in Evanston IL from 1984. My aunt had significant repairs done in 2001, see image of receipt in gallery, and returned to vehicle to storage in my grandmother's Evanston garage. I purchased the Cadillac in 2011 from my aunt who had inherited it from my grandfather. I spent a small amount of money to get the engine running, but did not invest in replacing the electrical or refinishing the interior. The engine last ran in 2011, but has not been started since 2013 and is currently housed in an indoor storage facility in South Chicago. The vehicle has rust damage and paint as shown in images. Images represent current state. Current storage contract expires at the end of January. The current storage operator does have space in an adjacent indoor space. I am not local and vehicle access is limited to Saturday mornings. |
