Description of 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood |
1966 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special in Pearl White We've spent almost $32,000 on this car. We have essentially resuscitated the car back toa safe and roadable condition with functional air conditioning. The car was stored in a weather-tight garagefor years and years. The body is super solid, buthas little rust spots. Rust repairs are needed aroundthe windshield and rear window. The paint is still prettyshiny, but has little flecks of green Seran wrap meltedinto it. Most work has been performed by Honest-1Mechanic on Semoran in Orlando, Florida. They are great. Mechanically, the car is like new. It has less than 300 miles on the rebuilt 429, which wasdone by an outside company. New battery,MSD ignition, starter, water pump, 2 fuel pumps, spark plug wires, flywheel, harmonic balancer. They swapped the old carburetor for a newHolley 4-barrel and chrome air filter. With theelectric choke the car starts and runs perfectly. They replaced all the seals except on the differential. New suspension front and rear. Upgraded front disc brakes, new rear drum brakes. New air conditioning systemhas been converted to current refrigerant, and includesa new compressor and a toggle switch under the dash. The A/C system was very difficult to solve, but nowit blows cold. New Rev wheels, and new Kumho tires. New gas tankand sending unit. Gas gauge seems to work fine. Mileage. Hmm. The lady we bought the car from wrote90,000-ish miles on the title. The odometer says 49,416.Who knows? Seems like we've replaced everythingmechanical. It definitely drives nice now. The interior is all original. The bench seats are worn, split, and shedding foam. The headliner is disintegrated. The dash is cracked typically of these old cars. Thefloor carpet is not so bad, except it has a hole underthe driver's feet. The driver's side power window workeda few weeks ago but it just died. The passenger windowstill works but seems to be dying. The looks you get driving this car down the streetare amazing. It needs some rust mitigation and interiorwork, but it is ready to be restored. What you are buying here is a functional and beautiful1966 Cadillac Fleetwood. Title is in hand. I prefer the funds to be wired, but I can try to work with you. I have 100% positive feedback for 24 years on ebay.I have sold many vehicles on here. I always try tobe as honest as possible to point out the good andthe bad. |
