Description of 1959 Cadillac DeVille Coupe de Ville |
1959 Cadillac convertible. Needa project then read on? This car started as a California Black Plate Couple de Ville. It had an older restoration and still looked really good. I wanted a convertible but didn't feel like paying the $85000 that the one I was after for years went for so I decided to build my own. That is a long story that started years ago. The final product is this car which is the culmination of years of effort buying selling and searching for parts. What I have now is this Coupe de Ville fully modified into convertible form. It is the equivalent of a 1959 GM convertible body wise. I have every part for the car to finish it except for one power window regulator for a rear 1/4 window. It has $5000 in triple plated show chrome already. New window glass all lots of options: fog lights power steering and brakes cruise control six power windows six way power seat channel seeking radio power trunk release day night mirror 390 V-8 engine . It has the top frame and electrics some new parts some old but all working. I don't have the vinyl top because that would shelf shrink. The car runs and drives as is. The boards on the floor are so I can drive it with a milk crate chair. I have a dash for it that is original and perfect which came from an ambulance. The upholstery has been started Coupe de Ville style with a Lilac and white two tone. The car was to be Persian sand with a red flop in the paint making it look kinda pink sorta lillac but in my mind the perfect color. The car needs to be gone through but it will be a real beauty when finished. Once again I have everything to finish the car and all nice pieces taken from the two dozen 59s that I owned. Car is rust free at this time as I have completed any rust repairs. The car was solid to begin with of coursesince it was fromCalifornia.I replaced a rocker and driver floor and some workwas done above wheel well on right side. I think I know almost everything about this car and would offer free support until it is finished including extra parts if I forget anything. Call or email for more info: Greg 92O-2O5-OO13. |
