Real 1964 SS 409 4-speed Impala. Numbers matching. I have the original bill of sale for this car (please see pics) and the numbers match the car and engine. Car runs and except for a small dead spot in the carb when you put your foot in it. it runs good:) The engine does not smoke-even after sitting for long periods. The wet spot behind the front pass tire is not from the car. When my plan was to restore the car. I was only going to clean up this engine as I believe it would be a waste of money to tear it down and rebuild it. The brakes are not roadworthy but good enough to get it trailered. The car needs a total restoration. Original bellhousing. transmission. and posi-traction rearend are in the car. It currently has a 348 water pump on it due to the fact that when the machine shop was pressing the bearing out of the original so it could be rebuilt. they pressed it the wrong way and broke it. It will need an original shifter. I have the AM/FM radio which is a little rare I'm told. When you finish this car. you will have an undisputed. documented 409 4 speed .
