This 1948 Chevy is a most unique half-ton short-box pickup. Uncountable hours were spent doing a nut and bolt restoration. Polished stainless allenhead carriage bolts used in assembly. Frame: It was totally restored and painted black.A '72 Nova stub with power steering was installed and rebuilt. The frame was boxed at that time. New heavy duty rear springs were installed. Rebuilt 10 bolt posi with 2.73 gears. Power disc brakes were installed on front and back; Billet Specialty Dyno SL 17x7 front and 18x8 on back. Body: It was carefully and professionally sectioned and 8 inches installed. The truck is very comfortable to drive and ride in. All work was done by a professional. After the cab was finished, t was dynomatted for sound. All panels on theunderside have been sprayed with a 2-part truck bed liner. The inner fenders andfenders under the hood have the same treatment. Seats are from a 2003 Buick and are power with lumbar support and recline. The seats were covered with leather. The headliner is blue suede with billet trim. Windows are power. Steering column is Tilt and Telescoping from a '66 Caprice. Classic instruments and Vintage air keep it cool and warm when you need it. Remote control Pioneer AM/FM multiple disc CD player in the glove box. Alpine amp to drive top of the line 6 inch door and 6x9 Infinity rear speakers. The box was custom made using a '55 short box asa pattern and making it work for a '48. The bed wood is oak stained with natural stain and multiple coats of matte finish waterproof poly done by a professional cabinet shop. The bed is dressed up with polish stainless bed angles. Under the box isa 16 gal aluminum gas tank with billet fuel door mounted on the bed. Engine: Started with a 350 professionally rebuilt and bored to a 355 with a nice bumpy cam. Edelbrock 4 bbl carb and polished intake; Hooker shorty headers; Billet March serpentine belt system, hrome water pump, lternator, ower steering pump, illet power coated valve cover, C compressor and air cleaner. The only thing not chrome or billet is the block, eads and oil pan. Everything is cooled by a 3 core aluminum polished radiator with an electric fan. The tranny is a rebuilt 700 R4 overdrive with a mild shift kit. This is a beautiful and functional truck you can drive in comfort and style. Since restored it has been driven 962 miles. It took over 5 years to build the truck. There are, owever, couple of things that need to be addressed: Windshield wipers are non-operative - need the w/w motor installed (motor comes with truck). Never installed because not driven in rain. Cowl vent has a power actuator which needs the switch hooked up. Switch is there. Door window on passenger side needs checked - does not operate. These are very minor things that need don Overall, his is one amazing truck. It runs, rives and sounds awesome. Driving the truck is fun.
