Description of 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 |
57 Chevy 210 2-door sedan - custom restoration started. We started working on this project about 10 years ago. But then other priorities came along and now the car has been sitting for a few years. So we have decided to sell it as is. I have a good title, IN and trim tag for the car. Paint code is 797 (Surf Green) and Trim Code is 655 (Green), YI. All rust has been removed from the body and new metal installed, his includes floors, races, ockers, uarters, ailpan, oor skins and lower fenders. The floor had been cut for a 4-speed in its previous life. We left the opening there since we were going to install a 5-speed and planned to patch the hole later. The rear wheelwells have been "mini-tubbed." A few custom touches were done, uch as sinking the license plate into the trunk and relocating the truck lock behind it, having the door handles, unching the holes for the longer Bel Air crown moldings, nstalling a storage box under the original speaker grill (this is not yet completed), nd moving the trunk weatherstrip from the lid to the opening (trunk weatherstrip is included but not installed yet). The firewall has been partially "smoothed". Although all new metal has been welded in, ome areas still need some finish work. Right now its just primer over metal so nothing is hidden. The "humps" from the hood were shaved and we planned to install a hood scoop at some point. The hood is a bit wavy right now but we planned to address that after the hood scoop was added. An inside hood release from East Coast Chevy has been installed at the hood (cable not installed yet). New hood hinges were also installed. Another original hood is also included. The frame was stripped to bare metal, rimed, nd painted a dark gray. The front suspension has been rebuilt with new components including A-arm shafts with more caster. Drop spindles and coil springs were added that provide a total of 3" drop. Disc brakes with 12" slotted and cross-drilled rotors have been added to the front. The original steering box has been installed so that the car can be moved easily. The rear of the frame has the "pocket kit" installed along with Posies 2" drop leaf springs. The original rear is still in the car, e had planned to install a narrowed 9" Ford in the future. The body was primed with epoxy primer and placed back on the frame using new bolts and bushings. The wheels and tires are just used for moving the car around; they have no tread left. Many parts are included with the car, ere is a list: windshield stainless rear glass stainless beltline moldings and clips Belair crown moldings and inserts Raingear wiper system parking lenses taillight lenses shock bar (not installed) new side mount motor mount kit new chrome trunk vee back seat (needs to be redone) inside garnish moldings headliner with rods window regulators inner fenders vent windows side glass instrument cluster glove box door and ash tray old hood latch and catch taillight housings with stainless trim and gas door headlight buckets fresh air ducts original steering box and column front and rear bumpers (need straightening and re-chrome) other odds and ends Note that NO engine or transmission is included. Also, o windshield, ack glass or front seat is included. I also have a shop manual, ssembly manual and over 20 years of Classic Chevy World magazine that I will sell with the car if you want them. If you would like to see the car in person please send me a message and I will make arrangements to show it to you. I can not transport the car so the winner will have to provide their own shipping. Thanks and good luck. |
