Description of 1970 Chevrolet Corvette |
Somewhat rare C3 Stingray. 1969 GM strike delayed the '70 model year, o Stingray production was the lowest since 1962. Also, ot many people back then ordered fully loaded big block cars. It seems there were only a little over 800 fully loaded big block cars in 1970. The 1970 models are also the last year for the high compression, igh horsepower motors. Compression andhorsepower started dropping in 1971. The 1970 model was also known for four nice exterior styling changes: flares on fenders to help with rock chips, arger blinker lamps in the front, egg-crate" grille on side, nd larger, ectangular exhaust in the back. This carfeatures a Chevrolet ZZ454 aluminum head crate engine, nstalled two years ago. A little over two thousand miles on the engine. Professionally broken in on an engine shop dyno, here it made 500 ft. lbs. of torque and 453 horsepower. Runs like a dream. Expertly rebuilt Q-jet, ith new gas tank, adiator, nd water pump. High performance Borgeson steering makes this car steer awesome and eliminates the pesky and always leaking valve and slave cylinder. New brakes, xhaust, eater core, rifice tube, nd compressor. Compressor and condenser need to be installed. New gauge cluster included - all gauges rebuilt with new silk screening of faces. Clock updated to quartz movement. New trailing arms in box go with the car should the old ones need replacing. The reserve is reasonable for this cars condition. Not a show car, ut beautiful and strong on the highway (3.08 gear ratio). I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country. Bridgehampton Blue is especially beautifulat dusk and under lights.
