Description of 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible |
1969 Corvette Convertible Project I'm selling this 1969 Corvette Convertible as a project car. A while back I found a birdcage and rear clip with clear title, nd stored it until I came across a 1971 chassis and then an ACI front end. My original intent was to make this into a resto-rod but I'm going to focus on another project so this one is going up for sale. Birdcage and rear clip are in fair condition with some rust and fiberglass repair needed. Front clip is in good condition but does have a crack in the front passenger side fender alongside the bonding strip. The body tag is still present and the codes indicate that this was originally a Can Am White car with Black Vinyl interior. The frame is in very good condition, ith some pitting on the steel but very solid in the dogleg area. I put a coat of satin black Rustoleum on the frame to preserve it. Drivetratin is in excellent condition. Engine is a CJK Code block (L48 350) and has recently been rebuilt, s well as the transmission. Suspension has been completely rebuilt. I personally did not drive the chassis but this is the description from the previous owner: This chassis is in great shape and has none of the usual stress cracks or repairs common with this design. Outside of light surface rust the chassis is structurally sound and solid. This was a cruiser up until recently when the body was removed. Factory A/C blew cold (condenser included in sale) and unit has power steering and manual brakes, tock 15x8 Ralley wheels (great shape) and good tires. I have documentation on the Napa Rebuild of the 5.7L engine, nd the TH400 was rebuilt by previous owner and both have approximately 6k miles. Vehicle ran and shifted great before disassembly. The brakes and suspension are all about 4yrs old (ball joints/adjustable rear trailing arms/rear springs/polyurethane bushings/rotors/calipers and pads) front coil springs are original, ear half shafts are rebuilt with a new 370 remanufactured Ekler rear end. Brake and fuel lines are all original and there is a 1yr old fuel tank w/sending unit (not shown in pictures). Intake (Holley Aluminum) /cam/carb (Holley 650 Dbl Pumper with no choke) and headers (rest of exhaust/mufflers still in good shape) are all upgrades (not sure to the specs on cam but has a nice lope to it- this car ran great) Accel dual point distributor converted pertronix electronic ignition with tach drive. Has stock mechanical fuel pump, as the usual chrome "accent" oil pan, rans pan, ir cleaner, hermostat housing and timing chain cover. As you can see from the photos, he car is just mocked up at the moment. Body is sitting on the frame and the doors, ront clip, nd hood are not bolted on. I can secure everything for transport but the car will obviously need to be restored correctly to be drivable. No interior pieces or steering column are included with the car. What you see in the photos is what you get, ith the exception of the air conditioning components. With a rebuilt engine, ransmission, nd suspension, nd a clear title, his is a great foundation for a resto-rod. Or, f you're intent on restoring a correct 1969 Corvette Convertible, eel free to contact me to discuss buying any combination of the components I have in the project. I also can provide closeup pictures of the areas not shown clearly here. And of course any buyers are welcome to come see the car in person before bidding. |
