1967 Camaro 396 RS/SS Coupe This unrestored and original 1967 Camaro RS/SS 396 was found in the back corner of a truck shop in and amongst various old pickups and other cars. Over the 17 or so years the owner owned this car he logged very few miles(under 150 miles). With the completion of hot rod projects and purchases of other cars this little Camaro kept being moved further and further back into the back corner of the shop, ut sight and almost forgotten. I have talked to the original owner recently. She and her husband (I will provide contact info to the new owner) ordered the car from Central Chevrolet Company in Grand Junction, olorado. Bill passed in 1991 and he always had very fond memories of his Camaro. Bill and Gloria factory ordered this car to their special specifications. Bill was very fond of the color combo, hite with the Turquoise Deluxe Interior, s there were very few if any around back then. He was an avid racing fan and even raced stock cars himself. The car mostly stayed in Grand Junction, side from a trip to visit Gloria’s family in Minnesota right after they purchased the car, nd 5 or 6 road trips (in which Gloria fondly recalled to me) to Riverside International Speedway in California. Gloria remembers the crowd of race fans that would gather around the Camaro at these events, fter all this was Chevrolet’s new model- the “All new Camaro” at the time! Other than these few road trips the car stayed in Grand Junction. Bill and Gloria had the car for almost 11 years till they sold the car and replace their beloved Camaro to purchase and new Honda and a New Cadillac. In 1978 the car travelled to Oklahoma where it’s new home was a Camaro Museum. I have yet to contact a local Camaro club to see if anyone recalls this museum. The story told to me was when the museum owner died sometime in the 1980’s the cars were all sold. The Camaro was purchased by a Camaro collector in Arizona, ho relocated to Albuquerque, ew Mexico( I do have the contact info for this gentleman as well). In 1998 the car was purchased by the fellow I bought it from, nd it made it’s way up to Lethbridge, lberta, anada. Now its 2015 and I have this beautiful documented 1967 Camaro. In talking with Gloria recently and her recounting all the fond memories of this Camaro I can see her love for this car is still very apparent. She is going to start gathering as many pictures as she can of this car in the “old days” and send them to me. With the brief history aside, he car stands on its own merit. This 1967 RS/SS 396 Camaro has had one repaint in the early 80’sand has not been restored otherwise. Everything with exception of the headers and the factory rally wheels is original to the car. I do not have the original steel wheels, ut I do have theoriginal simulated mag wheel covers(look like brand new). The headlight motors were replaced about 10 years ago with New Old Stock motors. Other than these items, he car retains all the parts and components it left the factory with some 48 years ago! The car is a nicely optioned RS/SS 396 and comes with the Warranty Protect-o-Plate, riginal Bill of Sale among other documents original to the car. As the Bill of Sale reads the car is equipped with:325HP/396 Cu In V8 Turbo-Jet Turbo Hydra matic TransmissionPosi-Traction 2.73 AxlePower SteeringPower SteeringPower Brakes Ermine White ExtDeluxe Turquiose InteriorRally Sport PackageLuggage Compartment LampsCourtesy LampsUnderhood LampsRear Bumper Guards Simulated Mag Wheel CoversTinted GlassLow tone Muffle Strato Ease HeadrestsDeluxe Front and Rear Seat BeltsShoulder HarnessCenter ConsoleInstrument ClusterPush Button RadioSpeed-Warning EquipmentFloor MatsRear Seat SpeakerSimulated Wood Steering WheelInterior Décor Package.
