Description of 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 |
There is no reserve! For your consideration isa 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop in good condition. It has a 6 cylinder engine with power glide transmission. The engine is equipped with dual manifold exhaust system with glass pack mufflers. The two tone color came from a 1957 Chevrolet color chart of Larkspur Blue and India Ivory. It is currently registered as a vintage Horseless Carriage in the State of New Mexico, SA. I am a member of the Santa Fe Vintage Car Club and have shown the car in shows including Cruising Nights on the Santa Fe Plaza. I am the owner of the vehicleand acquired it in January of 2014. Since thenI have replaced the 4 side windows, had the engine and transmission rebuilt, he body painted and upholstered it. I alsoreplaced some trim and addedbaby moon hubcaps with beauty rings around the rims. The funds I've invested in the car are more then the selling price, ut I wanted to keep the price reasonable soIf you are interested, t's to your advantage to buy this vehicle, he two main sources I've used for gettingparts are from Chevs of the 40's (chevsofthe40s.com) and National Chevy Association (nationalchevyassoc.com) Prior to my ownership the wiring was convertedto a 12 volt system and an alternatorandturn signal switchwere added. The front floor panels were also reinforced with sheet metal. The engine starts up right away andmakes a purring soundwith thedual exhaust. It runs well. The car has been kept in the garage since I acquired it. The original color from the factory was a MoonliteCreamwith aFalcon Gray top. When I acquired the carit had been sprayed with primer. I liked the blue and white color of the 57 Chevy so I had it painted that way. According to a Chevrolet brochure, he introduction of the Bel Air two door hardtop marked a big change in how Chevrolet defined sporty cars. Until the 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air Hard Top, he serious sporting types went for Convertibles. The Bel Air hardtop in 1950 redefined sporty closed models. Production figures of the 1950 Bel Air was 76,662. The 1950 Bel Air was similar in quality to the 1950 Impala. |
