Description of 1963 Chevrolet Impala

At auction is this super nice 1963 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport coupe, erial number 31847L183799. This car was built in the GM plant in Los Angeles, A and was originally sold through DeAnza Chevrolet in Riverside, A (now Singh Chevrolet). The original owner lived in Corona, A and the second owner in Lake Montezuma, Z. The third owner who did the mini restoration on the Impala lived in Peoria, Z.In February, 012 my friend Joe Johnson of Madison, S bought this fine automobile. On December 21, 013 Joe had a heart attack and died. I am helping his wife sell this Impala plus a 1978 Corvette and a 1953 hot rod truck.

There is a lot of documentation for this Impala. The documentation includes the original Vehicle Purchase Order from DeAnza Chevrolet in Riverside, A. This shows the vehicle as being a type "IP SS Cpe" (Impala Super Sport Coupe). The retail price with options was $4,104.20. The documentation includes all major service invoices. This Impala Super Sport is equipped with a GMcrate engine that was replace in August 1975. This engine was professionally rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. The engine is bored .030 over with all new pistons and bearings. The heads were reworked with new valves, alve guides, nd hardened seats. The crank shaft was machined. A new timing chain and oil pump were installed. The intake manifold and valve covers were powder coated. The exhaust manifolds were Jet-Hot coated. The engineis a 327/300 hp engine. The car is an original, are, ower steering, ower brake, nd factory R12 air conditioned car. We recharged the AC (which has a new Frigidaire compressor) and it blows cold. The transmission is the original Powerglide with original console mounted floor shifter. The transmission shifts smoothly. It cranks, uns, nd drives exceptionally well and idles so smooth you hardly tell it is running. The front suspension has been rebuilt and it certainly drives as such. The drivetrain is the original 10 Bolt 3:55 rear end.

The interior is all original (except the carpet, river's side seat upholstery and dash pad all of which are new). The rest of the interior is the original. See photos to see condition which is overall excellent.

The underside of the car from the firewall forward appears to have been completely redone. The front suspension has been completely rebuilt. The bottom of the car from the firewall back has not been restored and shows some very light surface rust. However, he rust is surface in nature and there is no rust through in the western built, estern housed vehicle. While here (in Mississippi) it has never seen any rain and has always been stored indoors.

The exterior of the car was repainted in 2011 with PPG base coat/clear coat of the correct Ermine White. Code 936. The car was stripped prior to painting (see photos) and etching primer and epoxy primer was used under the PPG paint. I can tell you that the paint is extremely nice. The trunk does not have a mat but does have the original spare wheel and jack.

When Joe Johnson bought the car, e had a professional inspection done by "Cars on Line" . The inspection states what I have stated above. They used a magnet over the entire car searching for Bondo. None was present. The car has new weather stripping and window felts. The inner fenders were powder coated. The tires are Goodyear radials. The mileage on the car when purchased was 102717. The mileage now is 102785.

We think this is one of the finest 1963 Impala Super Sport vehicles in the country. Please call Mike Martin at 601-906-1196 or email at mikeamartin02349@gmail.com with any questions. The car is for sale locally and we reserve the right to end the auction at any time. We ask that a successful bidder/purchaser wire the purchase funds at the end of the auction.
