Description of 1987 Chevrolet C-10 R10/C10 C/K |
1987 Chevrolet Short Bed Silverado R10 Truck Shortbed Chevy PickupClean title and California truck since new. Gorgeous red paint in excellent condition. american racing aluminum rims. professionally lowered. interior in perfect condition. running rebuilt 305 5. 0L V8 TBI. automatic transmission. upgraded exhaust. a/c. manual locks and window cranks. tinted windows and extra bucket seats that were going to use for the interior but never got around to it. Registration is current but on non-operational status since it did not pass smog. It needs a new catalytic converter. but I’m selling the truck with non-op status so I don’t need to get a smog check done. This classic truck is the rare combo of the last year of the beautiful boxy design and short bed combined with the fuel injected V8. I’m in Laguna Beach. but keep the truck in Murrieta. CA. If you would like to see it. please contact me. R-Series now designated two-wheel drive. while V-Series represented four-wheel drive. The name change is also found in the vehicle identification number. The 1987 models continued to be built at Janesville. St. Louis. and Flint. [44]Along with the name change. came other major improvements and tweaks for the final model year of the conventional cab pickups. Single-point electronic throttle-body fuel injection (TBI) was introduced on GM's full-size pickups. with new electric fuel pumps and high-pressure fuel lines. In addition. a "smart" powertrain control module (PCM) was also introduced. which controlled the fuel injection system. fuel-to-air burn ratio. engine ignition timing. and (if equipped with an automatic transmission) the Turbo Hydra-Matic’s turbine torque converter clutch. EngineThe 305 5. 0L variant of the small-block Chevrolet was a 265 cubic inch block with a 350 crank. The bore was 3. 736 inches and the stroke was 3. 48 inches. Introduced in 1976 models. it had a displacement of 305 cu in (5. 0 L). The LO3 version (1987–95) produced 170 hp and 255 lb·ft (346 N·m) of torque; 170 hp at 4. 00 rpm and 275 lb·ft (373 N·m) at 2. 00 in 1993–1995 GM trucks. This engine used the TBI throttle-body fuel injection. It featured "swirl port" heads and served as the base engine in all C/K 1500 Series GMC/Chevrolet Trucks/Vans. |
