Description of 1966 Chevrolet Corvair |
This 1966 Corvair Monza was purchased new in 1966 by my Father at McBride Chevrolet in Lebanon MO. He paid $2100.00 for it and I rode in the front seat as Lee Ervin drove it up to the door. I have been in this car every mile it has been driven and rescued it from under a tree about 15 years ago, ragging it to Texas. I worked on it with the help of the Corvair club in Austin, hen was transferred overseas, t sat in my Fathers barn for years before I hauled it to Virginia. I am the second title holder after my Father. I am getting ready to retire and no longer have the desire or money to work on the car. It was a daily driver for many years when we lived in Texas so it is not a show car, nd likely will never be. Condition: Rust at the bottom of the fenders as expected. Some rust in other places, othing terrible. The floor pans are solid as is most of the car. I had it painted a long time ago, ut it was a poor job and is mostly gone. I ran it into the ditch when I was 14 and put a dent in the right front, hich I repaired, oorly. The engine has been replaced with a 1965 140HP, he dash is replaced with a Corsa dash, he seats are out of a 1968 and I am sure much else is changed. The car has a lot of issues, am not much of a mechanic so I "fixed" a lot of stuff, oorly. I just replaced the seals, oil, oltage regulator, ires, lugs, nd several odds and ends. I tried to start it, ut believe the distributor may be 180 out, t will not fire, ut have not had the time or desire to work on it. It ran just fine before I "worked" on it. Like I said, am a less than stellar mechanic. Extras: I will include everything I have that even remotely looks like Corvair, ll parts and extra stuff I have will go with the car. I will even throw in the motorcycle jack to remove the engine. Everything you need to become a Corvair owner. The wheels on the car are Camero, ut I have an extra set of 4 aluminum wheels (see picture), ll tires are bad and would need to be replaced I have one original 13" wheel and one 14" steel wheel. Original 110 heads, am, rank, ugs, istons, heet metal and fuel lines. Everything you need to bring it back to a 110. Original instrument panel, ith original miles Original front seat springs Extra Carburetors and linkage Extra bumpers, heel hubs, tab arms, nd gas tank Extra bendable brake lines Wheel covers, oth 1965 and 1966, ot a set of either Two tool boxes of small parts and junk Shop manuals, larks catalog set, apers and booklets of all kinds. Bring a trailer and capability to haul a lot of stuff. |
