Please see the material in blue print at the end of this description for the full details of our Buyer Satisfaction policy. Now to the details on this exceptional and extremely popular 1957 Chevy convertible. A Rare Find—1957 Chevy Convertible with an AACA Grand National 1st Place Award History! This fully restored (frame off) Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is among the nicest looking/driving Bel Airs we’ve seen and the AACA apparently agreed in 1992 by conferring it the Grand National 1st Place award. A “picture book” of the restoration will transfer with the car. Since retiring from the national show circuit. the car appears to have been driven only 6. 83 miles. Great Looking · Paint and Chrome Resprayed in its original Matador Red. this car looks almost as new with the exception of areas of crazing on the fenders. The car passed “the magnet test” with flying colors and we could find no evidence of body filler. The chrome is every bit as nice as is the stainless trim. The white convertible top is in excellent condition and the power lowering/raising mechanism works properly albeit a bit slowly. There are fender skirts as well if you prefer the sleeker look. · Interior The interior upholstery was all redone and looks like new. The door panels are excellent as is the carpeting. The dash surfaces and all of the instruments are in excellent cosmetic condition as well. · Engine The 283 V-8 with Power Pack is a replacement 1957 engine that was totally rebuilt. The fully-detailed V-8 sits in an equally nicely detailed engine bay. · Transmission The three-speed manual transmission. equipped with the overdrive option. shifts as smoothly as silk! The car has limited slip to help harness the engine’s power at the back wheels. · Chassis The underside of this Bel Air convertible is almost as pristine as the topside (see pictures). It is. of course. free of any visible rust or corrosion. This car was. afterall. on the national show circuit. · Safety and Comfort features The car has a Bendix’s Hydrovac power brake booster and the brakes operate smoothly. This car is also equipped with power steering that functions makes driving this car a dream. Seat belts have been installed for additional safety. All of the safety and accessory features work—lights. turn signals. wipers. horn. etc. Both the original radio and original clock were recently rebuilt and work correctly. A Very Nice Example of America’s Dream Convertible If one were to take a poll of the most popular American convertibles of the ‘50s. the 1957 Chevy Bel Air would rank right at the top of the list. and this Matador Red ragtop would be near the top of that list. A national first place show winner that still retains much of its restored luster. It is equally suited for the local/regional show circuit. the country club or just an outing on a pretty day. This is a car that has been pampered since retiring from the national show circuit but you will want to “show it off” on the streets of your home town.
