Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very sharp 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air hard top. In '57, he Chevy lineup ranged from 150s to Bel Airs with the hard top being arguably the most attract body available. The hard tops had no B post which gave a seamless look, specially with all the windows rolled down. This particular example certainly looks sharp in red and white paint which has been beautifully laid on a laser straight body. The trim is all there and looks beautiful from stem to stern. The bumpers are beautifully chromed and make for a great place to fix your hair in their mirror finish. The rain guards snap into place wonderfully, ossibly even smoother than when the car was new. Some nice period upgrades on this one are: fender skirts, ual antennas on the rear fenders, nd of course the unmistakable continental kit. This one retains the original style hub caps and wide white wall tires. Under the hood the factory appearance has been kept as well. This car sports a 283 CID V8 which has the very desirable dual carb set up. Two four barrel carburetors sit one in front of the other with the recognizable "Bat Wing" intake going to two air cleaners on each side. This hot set up provides plenty of power, nd is dialed in nicely to fire up easily and reliably. Backing the V8 is a 3 speed manual transmission which is shifted on the column. Driving this car is a joy partly because of the beautifully restored interior. The black and red upholstery is all new and looks amazing. The dashboard is nicely refinished and unmodified. From the great paint, eautiful trim, lean engine bay, nd new interior, his car could easily be put right into a car show. It wouldn't be tough to bring home a few trophies with this '57.
