FOR SALE 1948 CHEVY TRUCK UP FOR BID IS MY 1948 CHEVROLET TRUCK THAT I HAD PUT TOGETHER OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS WHEN I HAD THE TIME AND MONEY. THE TRUCK IS SUPER CLEAN AND IS A REAL HEAD TURNER AND CONVERSATION STARTER. I AM NOT SUGGESTING THIS IS A SHOW READY TRUCK WITH A $10,000 PAINT JOB OR ANYTHING. THIS IS SET UP FOR WHAT I WANTED, N EVERYDAY DRIVER IF I WANTED IT TO BE AND I WANTED IT TO HAVE SOME OF THE MODERN FEEL AND CONVENIENCES OF A NEW TRUCK. SO IT BRINGS THE OLD AND THE NEW TOGETHER IN 1 COOL ASS TRUCK. I ADDED DIGITAL DASH AND A MODERN STEREO DECK WITH DETACHABLE FACE AND 4 NEW INFINITI SPEAKERS (2 ABOVE THE SUN SHADES AND 2 LARGER OVAL SPEAKERS BEHIND THE SEAT THAT WERE PROFESSIONALLY INSTALLED). I ALSO BUILT THE REAR SIDE PANELS OUT OF STEEL TO REPLACE WHAT USE TO BE WOOD SIDE PANELS). MY ORIGINAL THOUGHT WAS AND IS TO GET THESE CHROME DIPPED SO THAT IT BRINGS THE TRUCK TO THE NEXT LEVEL. AS FAR AS I HAVE EVER SEEN ON ANY OF THESE TRUCKS THEY ARE A ONE OF A KIND ONLY STEEL SIDE PANELS EVER PUT ON A TRUCK. I WAS GOING FOR SOMETHING TOTALLY ORIGINAL. I ALSO PINNED AND LOCKED EACH PANEL INTO PLACE SO THEY CAN'T BE STOLEN. I HAVE HAD ALLOT OF PEOPLE WHO SAID THEY LIKE THE RUSTY LOOK ON THE METAL PANELS, S THEY ARE NOW, S IT FITS THE TRUCK, O SINCE I HAVEN'T DONE IT YET I''LL LEAVE THAT TO NEXT OWNER TO DECIDE. IT'LL BE ABOUT $400 OR SO FROM WHAT ESTIMATES I HAVE GOTTEN ON THEM TO CHROME DIP THEM CORRECTLY. AS I MENTIONED ITS IN WHAT I THINK IS BETTER THAN GOOD AS FAR AS PAINT (PICTURES TELL THE STORY) AND NOWHERE ON THE TRUCK IS THERE ANY RUST OR BODY ROT. I DID NOT BUILD THE CHASSIS, UT FROM WHAT I WAS TOLD THE REAR END CAME FROM A 71 NOVA AND THE FRONT END CAME FROM A 88 OR SO MUSTANG. SO THE FRONT HAS DISC BRAKES AND THE REARS ARE DRUMS. THE TIRES AND RIMS ARE ALL BRAND NEW (MAYBE 250 MILES). SINCE THE DIGITAL DASH DOESN'T SHOW MILES IT SHOWS HOURS. THE FUEL GAGE ISN'T HOOKED UP, UT THAT NEVER BOTHERED ME AS ITS NOT LIKE I TOOK IT ON LONG ROAD TRIPS. THE DIGITAL DASH SHOWS HOURS, PEED, PM, OLTS AND ENGINE TEMP. I SANDED AND PAINTED THE REAR TRUCK BED WOOD PANELS BLACK TO MATCH THE REST OF THE RED AND BLACK THEME THROUGHOUT THE TRUCK. I DID INSTALL WITH MY FRIEND A NEWLY REBUILT 350 SMALL BLOCK ENGINE THAT WAS BORED OUT TO 383. I'M NO ENGINE GUY BUT FROM WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD THIS IS NONE AS A 383 STROKER ENGINE THAT PRODUCES ABOUT 375-400 HP AND SOUNDS INCREDIBLE WHEN YOU START IT UP. IT SOUNDS FAST AND ALTHOUGH THESE OLDER TRUCKS ARE HEAVY STEEL THIS TRUCK CAN MOVE. AS I MENTIONED THE DIGITAL DASH THAT WAS INSTALLED AT SAME TIME AS ENGINE DOESN'T SHOW MILES DRIVEN BUT IT SHOWS HOURS. I DONT KNOW HOW 22 HOURS RELATES TO MILES BUT THATS HOW MANY HOURS ARE ON THIS ENGINE AND I CANT BELIEVE IVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK MORE THAN 250 MILES TOTAL. IVE ONLY USED IT AS A SUNDAY DRIVER TO RUN TO STORE OR MOVIES ETC. SO TO RECAP I WANTED AN OLD TRUCK, S I LOVE THE LINES OF THESE YEARS, HAT I COULD DRIVE EVERYDAY, F I WANTED, UT NOT FEEL I HAD A TRAILER CAR ONLY FOR SHOWS ID BE AFRAID TO DRIVE IF IT GOT A SCRATCH. I MORPHED THAT WITH THE MODERN CONVENIENCES OF A DIGITAL STEREO, ASH, OMFORTABLE BENCH SEAT, TEERING WHEEL, N 8 CYLINDER MODERN MOTOR AND THE LOOKS OF A NEW CAR INSIDE. THE ONLY REALLY BIG FLAW WITH THIS TRUCK IS I'M SELLING IT, ND I THINK PERSONALLY FROM WHAT IVE SEEN ON HERE AT A MORE THAN FAIR PRICE.
