Description of 1937 Chevrolet Other |
This beautiful 37 Chevy Coupe was owned by the lateMr.Chandler Cates, of Hillsborough, C. He was the owner of Cates Oil Co. andof an Esso service station, here he restored this car in the late 1970s. This car, long with an antique fire engine he restored, as prominently featured in many parades in Hillsborough over the years. The coupe is now being offered for sale by Mr. Cates' estate. The title is clear, nd in the name of Mr. Cates' daughter. The coupe is in excellent condition, eeding only minor cleaning and refurbishment to bring it up to show standards. There is some deterioration of the seals around the quarter windows, heoriginal floor mat is ragged, nd there is some minor delamination of the rear glass. There is no rust evident anywhere on the car, xcept very minor surface rusting and staining which is present on any older restoration. Information from Mr. Cates family states that when the engine was rebuilt that insert bearings were used, nd that the gas tank was removed and sealed some years later. The car cranks, uns, hifts, rives, nd stops like a new one. The engine runs so smoothly that it can barely be heard. The car has been garaged since the restoration, nd taken out and driven monthly for the past few years to keep it in top operating condition. The coupe isgaraged in Hillsborough, C, here it may be inspected and driven by appointment. This car is offered for sale as-is, here-is, ith no warranty whatsoever. All interested buyers are urged to personally inspect the vehicle, r send a representative to do so. I will expedite this in any way reasonably possible. The only exception to the no-warranty policy is that, hen the buyer arrives to pick up the vehicle, f a major mis-description is discovered. In that event, will refund the buyers deposit, o questions asked. This does NOT include minor cosmetic issues. A $500.00 deposit is due by verified PayPal within 24 hours of a sale (immediately with a Buy It Now). "Verified" means that there are actually funds in the buyers PayPal account, ot funded by a credit card. The balance is due within 7 days, nd may be by cash on arrival, ank-to-bank transfer, r a certified check. Any form of check will result in the car and title being held for up to 14 days, r pending clearing. Low feedback bidders note; bidders with a positive feedback score of less than 100 are requested to send me a note using the "Ask a Question" form below to discuss your payment and pickup plans BEFORE making an offer or a bid. Otherwise your offer is subject to being rejected no matter the amount. I have been hung out to dry too many times by people making offers then failing to follow through, nd eBay makes sellers pay the fee anyway. The car may be stored at the buyer's risk for up to 30 days after full payment has been made. Please ask any questions using the "Ask a Question" link below. I will respond asap. |
