Description of 1970 Chevrolet Blazer |
This 1970 Chevy K5 Blazer was restored from a real straight "survivor" with original paint. The only rust hole on the body was about the size of a silver dollar over the left rear wheel openings. It still has thefactory boxed in reinforcement panels underneath ( behind the rocker panels). These are usually rusted out or completely gone. The body work and paint that is on it now is, n myopinion, show quality. There are no parking lot dings or paint flaws that I can see.We do not know a lot about the454 big blockmotor except that it runs pretty well and doesn't smoke. We bought it as a project and did notice that the block had been hot tanked and had no paint on it. Normally an engine that was hot tanked would be because it was taken apart for rebuilding but I have no information to back that up. The things we know is that the carb has been rebuilt and tune up work performed, plugs, ires, tc). As you can imagine it has lots of torque in this light truck with 4 speed manual transmission. I think it is geared perfect with the larger diameter tires.I am making a virtual drive video to put on YouTube so you can get an idea of how it runs and drives. WeDO have the top for it. It is a dual panel version with inner and out layers. It has been spray lined inside and out. The top is presentable and usable but not the same quality as the rest of the truck. It has a couple of spots on it that should have been body worked a little bit more before spraying and it needs one of the new "hinge kits", ow available, o fix the loose fitting rear window hinges. Overall it is a good top- it just needs a little more work to be up to par with the rest of the truck. Please study the pictures closely and call me at "two 0 eight-seven three three-5330" if you want more pictures or to ask any questions. You can also ask questions from the section at the bottom of this listing and be sure to read all the answers already asked and posted below. To save timeI will list some of the items installed on the Blazer.
