There was not any damage to the truck just the title was destroyed Amazing 1991 Chevrolet S-10 Durango Prototype This truck is one of a kind! It was commissioned by the Department of Energy and Automotive Composite Consortium and was collectively build by the Three major car manufacturers; Ford, M, hrysler - and the national composite center. Ford was responsible for the scale up of the P4 process to make a fiberglass perform for the shape and strength of the bed. Chrysler was responsible for the development of the chemistry of the reaction Injection Molding process and GM was responsible for the development of the matched metal tooling that would create the dimensions of the punished part. NCC was responsible for the development of the Rim process and related compression press that would hold the finished part tooling. It has been sitting in the National Composite Center for 22 years and just recently trailered to Holmen, I where it took 3rd place out of 300 at the car show. It is built with lightweight parts to eliminate the heavier steel counterparts. It is the first and only to have a full composite box. The mileage is 900 which 745 were documented by GM Bus and Truck engineering department and the remainder were added taking it to trade shows. This vehicle has never been titled or registered and was delivered to NCC straight from the factory. Some of the features -- straight from the window sticker are; 4.3L engine, Speed Auto transmission w/overdrive. Charcoal Custom Vinyl Bucket Seats, ir, ull size spare tire (which all tires are Laredo Uniroyal which are rare and hard to fine), m/FM Radio, liding Rear Window, lack Mirrors, ower windows & locks, ear Axle is 3.42 ration and the uniqueness of the full composite box. Take a special look at the blackened Chevrolet bow tie on the front on this truck, he side box steps, he S-10 Durango label, he dash board, nd of course the composite box! This is a "one of kind"!
