Description of 1959 Chevrolet El Camino |
Relisted due to a non-paying buyer. Now listing with very low Buy It Now. Must sell! It could be yours! Offered for sale is this 1959 Chevrolet El Camino! Innovative for it's time, he El Camino revolutionized the truck industry by combining the comfort andeaseof the car's chassis with the hauling potential of a light truck. The 1959 production year was the initial offering of this car/truck and is highly sought-after by collectors around the world. This vehicle here has been in Texas all it's life and has spent the last 20+ years in a barn here in West-Texas. The previous owner had the seat upholstered 10-15 years ago, nd little else has been done to the car since then. The body is complete, traight, nd shows zero evidence of any accidents or repairs. That being said, t has some issues regarding rust. There is typical rust damage in multiple areas of the vehicle, s is expected in Chevrolet products of the era. It has effected areas such as: the hood, loor (in some spots), ail-gate, nd rockers. All these areas are relatively easy to repair/repair by a competent body shop. These areas are all shown in the photos below. The floors have had metal repair done on top of the original floor, o the floor is solid from the inside, ut the original metal is still damaged underneath. However, he vehicle is incredibly complete and intact, he interior is all in great shape, he seat is not perfect, ut is very clean and comfortable with no major tears or stains. The dash is straight with no major damage or issues; we haven't tested gauges or the radio, hese may/may not work. The engine is the factory 283ci V8 with the correct 2-speed automatic transmission. We started up the engine and ran it off a remote tank and we were surprised at how well it ran after sitting for so many years. There were no signs of knocks, icks, r issues. We didn't try shifting the transmission, o please assume that the vehicle will need to be winched onto a trailer. The windshield has a small crack on the passenger side, ut they are readily available from glass suppliers. This El Camino could easily be gotten on the road as-is and enjoyed as a patina car, r fully restored to it's glory days. The pictures literally will tell a thousand words, o please look them over carefully. Clear Texas Title as well as factory owner's manual and keys! The car is located in Lubbock, exas. Feel free to message me if you wish to view the car or have an appraiser inspect the car on your behalf. Placing a bid and/or being the high bidder at auction end, ignifies an understanding and agreement to these terms. Thanks for your cooperation. After some discussions with various El Camino enthusiasts, 've come to the realization that this car may have had A/C at one point, ither factory or dealer-installed; this is proven by the holes for the dash-pods on either side of the dash. Now, here are currently no A/C parts or components on the car at this time, ut I see no signs that those holes in the dash are anything but factory. So, ust so all potential buyers are informed, his is most likely a factory A/C car, hich is not uncommon here in Texas. |
