Description of 1958 Chevrolet Impala STATION WAGON |
FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER AT ANYTIME. I AM HAPPY TO TALK VIA PHONE IF YOU PREFER. I CAN ALSO HELP PRICE AND SETUP NATIONAL OR INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. THANKS. 1958 CHEVROLET BROOKWOOD STATION WAGON This is a solid project with no external rust. A great one to start with for your restoration. It is 99% complete. It will come with a clear title. The car has a non-running six cylinder. These '58 wagons look really cool fixed up. Whether you restore to original. hot rod. rat rod. lead sled. pro-touring. etc. it will look sweet. I thought about doing a resto-rat car and painting it the same original colors. but with a matte finish. Lower it a bit and add some tastefull von dutch style pinstriping. I've included some pics of other restored cars. Here are all the details. MORE PICS AVAILABLE OF MY CAR. Thank you. MECHANICALThis car has a six cylinder (probabably original). with a three speed manual on the column. The head is gone. Most of the other brackets. valve cover. air cleaner. etc. is included. The car is non-running. Wheels and tires in the pics are not included. It will have roller wheels/tires on it. I haven't checked the brakes but it rolls and steers fine. I believe clutch and tranny work as they should. at least from what I can tell without it running. BODYThis is not a 3-seat car. The body has no exterior rust. Low floorpans do have rust through though. This is very typical of the year. They are somewhat easy to replace. depending on your skill level. and cheap to buy. This is only in the low foot area where water ends up. The cargo area and spare tire tub have no rust. Quarters. wheelhouses. doors. hood. roof. jams. pillars. frame. dash. cowl. firewall. etc. have no rust through. The car has had a little paint work. probably about 30-40 years ago by the looks of it. The passenger front fender has been painted and has some filler. It's chipping off so it's easy to see that its' not too thick. The drivers rear quarter has the same type of repair. Easy to see that no rust is lurking under the filler. Normally the lip of the wheelwell or behind the wheelwell are the problem spots anyways. and they're fine. Windshield is cracked but usable for a low budget ride. I'll have to double check to see if any door glass cracked. All doors open/close including tailgate. Hood is just sitting on it but hood hinges are there and look fine. I think they were getting ready to pull the engine and never did. I'll secure the hood for shipping. INTERIORThe interior appears complete. Seats and upholstery look original. Everything looks original but does need the full restoration. I'm sure you could use it for a rat rod. but it would at least maybe need a carpet. It has the original radio. horn ring. glovebox door. Many times that stuff has been robbed out. It has keys in the ignition too. OVERALLThis is a great car to start with and restore as you wish. It would be neat as a resto-rat with the same colors. only in a matte finish . and lowered a bit. Maybe some tastefull pinstriping too. This would make a cool pro-tour car too. It's your choice and it will look . Thanks and happy bidding. photo On Dec-20-14 at 18:29:39 PST. seller added the following information: tuddy5 Store |
