LET ME KNOW IF YOUR INTERESTED IN DOING SOMETHING EARLY. I CAN TALK VIA EMAIL OR PHONE. THANKS
1956CHEVY 5700 MODELCOE LCF TRUCK
This is a neat old cab over chevy truck. I think the 55-57 chevy coe trucks are one of the neatest looking, aving the same basic styling as the tri-five 55-57 chevy cars. These trucks make nice rod projects and can be fixed up in a variety of ways or restored to original if you prefer. People put flatbeds on them or regular boxes from the era. I know boxes are not difficult to findand are basicallylook the samefrom 1955-1966.I've seen custom crew cabs built out of these trucksand suburbans/panels too. If you really want a low ride read deck on one of these trucks, ou can usea toronado front-wheel drive chassis. Then you can really drop the rear deck low, nd they look pretty neat that way. This truck is an LCF (low cab forward). They have the good COE looks, ut have more room in the cab. I am 6'5" and I fit in it comfortably. The engine on an lcf isn'tisn't as far back under the cab, hich on standard coe trucks gives you less room and they can get warm in the summer and are a little more difficult to work on. This truck is almost rust free with the exception of two small spots.Itis a very dry truck. It does have a clear title. Here are all the details on the chevy. I have experience shipping vehiclesand can help with that process.I have good contacts and it'saffordable. Included in the listing below are pics of other COE trucks that have been restored just to give you an idea of the potential.I have some more picsalso I can send. Thanks and happy bidding.
MECHANICAL

This truck has what looks to be the original 283. It has the old style square bore 4-barrel carter carburetor which was only used on early small blocks. It also has the older Chevrolet valve covers accurate for an early 283/327 style small block. This is a factory v8 truck. I have not tried to turn it over or start it.I initially intended on trying to get it runningbut needed it out of my shop in a hurry to work on one of my pickups. I intended on putting it back in and working on it but it hasn't happened yet. It could run with a little work, ut I just don't know at this point. The transmission is a 4-speed and the clutch works and shifts into all gears. It holds it from rolling on a hill. Tires are pretty nice actually and all four match. I have the two other wheels that can go with it if your doing an original type restoration. The truck rolls and steers fine.

BODY

The body on this truck is really nice, traight, nd dry for an un-restored 1956 farm truck. It has two small rust spots, ach in the back of the cab corners. The spots aren't right on the corner, ut inward a little bit which makes for an easy repair. I do know how to do these repairs myself so I know that it's not difficult, ven for a novice if you choose to do it yourself. It's a basic butt-weld patch, bout 3"x4" on each side. Repair patches panels are sold but you could make your own easily with sheet metal. There is no other rust-through or pinholes. It has only one spot of filler I can find. It's over the drivers side headlight eyebrow. The other eyebrow looks fine and feels fine. The paint is old and if there was any other filler, t most likely would be showing or cracking. The floors are perfect. Roof, ood, oors, rame, rip rails, irewall, eader, tc. etc. are clean. The doors shut fine. I'll have to double check but I believe all glass is even usable.
INTERIOR
There is not much to talk about on these old trucks. No floormat and it looks like it's been out for awhile which is good. The dash area is clean though and mostly original. The seat looks original. Headliner is in it. Keys are in it. It has a cool old-school under the dash auxillary radio. Auxillary fan (old farmer air conditioning) is still in it. Overall the interior is really intact and unmolested for an old work truck. Many of the trucks from this era were parked in barns a lot when not in use, nd had low overall miles on them.
OVERALL
I thinkthis is acool old COE project. These trucks get tons of attention at the car shows and on the street. This is a great one to start with and you could maybe just get it running and drive it as-is. You could maybe find an orange stepside box off a 55-66 pickup and just put it on this chassis, r a newer chassis, nd use the body as-is. The same orange paint code was used during that period. Any way you do it, he truck will be cool. Thanks and happy bidding. Used, ld, nd sold as-is.
