Description of 1963 Chevrolet Impala

1963 Chevrolet Impala SS with 44xxx original miles. This is a true 3Z code car with the correct date coded 283 with rare 4 barrel and 4 speed. This car was optioned with A/C, added dash and seat belts. The perfect Christmas gift for the gearhead in your family!!!
First, will be upfront and honest with any and all descriptions of this car.If you would like a picture of something, et me know; If you have a question, lease ask.It absolutely infuriates me to buy misrepresented stuff over the internet so Irefuseto sell stuff like that. Please read the entire ad before emailing me questions. It may take up to a day for me to get back to you with a specific picture request depending on what else is going on. This Impala SS is located in Elizabethtown, Ain a climate controlled garage at my fathers house (about 10 minutes from me).Appointments to see the car can be made and are encouraged. Pick-up from Harrisburg International Airport (20 minutes away) can be arranged.
It is a passion and hobby of my fathers and mine to find classic cars (the weirder, he better) that have been stashed away from the public and bring them out of the garage. We (my dad is a master mechanic w/ 40+ years of wrenching) get mothballed cars running and driving and pass them on to people that are also passionate about preserving them. I enjoy researching the cars history, riting, alking with people, nd most of all working alongside my pops. We hardly ever finish a car or make decent money. You could consider us classic car matchmakers with short attention spans, ots of time, nd bad business sense.
Why are we selling the car? My dad and I bought this car in the spring of '15. We planned to keep this car for a while and fix the minor issues but an over abundance of projects, hip replacement for him, nd a 16 month old son for me has shuffled the Impala to last in line. It doesn't deserve to sit in the garage next year (or several more the way we work) and should be ready to cruise to and win shows in the spring with some minor work.
The good:
The car had a very nicely done frame-off restoration 12 years ago and was repainted its original code 936 Ermine White. The body is laser straight, nd the paintwork is impeccable. The stainless, hrome, nd badges are super straight and all present. The engine was rebuilt and has less than 1000 miles since completion - 12 years ago. The upholstery and headliner were redone and look fantastic.
The accessory tag on this car shows that it was born with air conditioning, eluxe seat belts, padded dash, nd anautomatic transmission. <- more on that later. The a/c was not fitted after the restoration but the compressor and bracket are included (thecompressor appears to be the smaller boxy looking compressor that were used for dealer installed a/c packages). It also appears to be a factory 4 barrel optioned car (option code L77) which would make it 220hp.This has to be a rare optioned car but without reliable and published build numbers for these years it's hard to tell. Accessory tags for '63 and earlier cars are vague and, s I have found during the research on these cars, ot always accurate to how the cars left the factory or dealers' lot.

About the transmission: as stated above, t is hard to tell if this car actually left the factory with a power-glide in it even though the accessory place says so. The transmission is the correct and RARE - 1963 only, -10 aluminum cased unit. The car also has the correct floor pan / transmission tunnel but that could have been replaced during restoration although it doesn't appear to be as such.
Mileage after restoration >1000!: A few years ago the previous owner had the car trailered to Atlantic City and drove it around while there. New brakes, ires, nd a HEI ignition were installed before the trip to ensure trouble free cruising. The original carburetor has been rebuilt while we owned the car; ethanol ate the accelerator pump. I have always used non-ethanol fuel in my carbureted vehicles. The car runs, rives, nd stops great. Drive it anywhere without hesitation. This car would make the ultimate low rider.
The issues:
-The car sat outside last winter due to loss of storage by the previous owner. Unfortunately, ome surface rust has started to form on the bare metal parts and under the cowl vents (rust stains on the paint are easily removed with some wax or compound and elbow grease). - see pictures. -The hood had some filler in the peaks. Rust has formed underneath and has cracked the bondo. We were given an estimate to repair and repaint for $500 from the best body shop in the county (4 month wait until my turn in line). -The front and rear bumpers and trays are nice and straight but could use re-chromed and polished
-The stainless trim around the headlights and taillights could be polished and the hardware replaced with better quality, on-rusting, tainless screws.
-The grille isn't as straight as the body but could be straightened by a good stainless guy. -The padded dash, teering column, nder dash, nd rear deck need work (new padded dash included). -The transmission has the wrong shifter which is causing contact with the shaft and console in 3rd and 4th. -Minor bubbling in the paint in front of the driver side rear wheel arch. -It currently wears the incorrect hub caps (I think they're off a 65 impala). *Two correct 1963 hubcaps are included with the sale. -There is a power steering fluid leak at the control valve line or fitting.
-The air conditioning system is missing the condenser.
-The original air-cleaner went missing.
